Talking 92 350LE air suspension troubleshooting

Can anyone tell me where the onboard compressor is located? The owners manual says curbside rear cabinet, but I need another clue. Thanks.

Surely you did not see the interior pics of Kota's new 360. Boy, talk about blue
(I like blue ). Man that was deep into the blue period, clearly ripe for changing.

Cheers Richard

Question: We are trouble shooting air suspension - had a broken line at the dash pressure valve indicator -testing plugging it. Can't locate the onboard air compressor (switch or motor malfunctioned so can't hear it). Manual says curb side rear cabinet - but not observable unless it's under the sink?

BTW, Vander Haag's is a good source for truck parts.

I.e. I paid $500 to have my Saginaw 710 power steering gear box rebuilt locally. I thought I was getting a hell of a deal after getting a quote for $2400 from Spartan for a new one.

You can get a drop in reman Cummins 5.9 for about $6K with a 2 year unlimited miles warrantee.

It's interesting to look at their used diesels. "Only 383,000 miles". You won't see that on a 454.

If you have the queen bed set up the compressor is on the curb side below the curved back window. There is a small night stand built around it. The front of the stand can be seen to the right of the compressor with the metal grating. You have to take it apart to gain access.

5 years later...

As some of you might recall our life took a major turn when family health issues moved us back home to Michigan from Colorado along 35 years of “stuff”. My brother and I went out a week ago to get 94 project. It’s been in “secure” covered storage in a dry climate. Figured it was good preservation until I was ready to get back into it.

About 2 weeks ago I got a call that it, along with several other RVs, was broken into. Boulder’s homeless problem has really blossomed since marijuana was legalized. They have been looking for camping gear, blankets, sleeping bags...

They tried prying the door open and eventually busted out the window over the sink. The spine of the door is broke and will have to be rebuilt. The window frame it bent and will have to be replaced.

I had completely emptied it out so there was nothing to steal. All the shades, which were up, were down so I think they had been lining in it. There was a bunch of stuff that must have come from other campers in it.

We cleaned up the mess, charged the batteries, and it started like it was run yesterday. It had been two years since I had been out there.

Driving it home had not been an option due to a failed transmission ECU and other work before I felt it would be worthy of the 1200 mile trek. So we put it on a trailer and brought it home. Loading took some imagination and help from gravity by backing it into a hill. It rolled right on.

Drove straight through with a six hour rest stop and pulled into Ludington yesterday about 2:00.

Got Skiddy out and dug a bit of a loading dock next to the barn. Worked pretty well. I might get some RR ties and make it permanent.

It was quite an adventure. Got to visit a lot of friends in Boulder. Very smoky from the fires.

I miss the Colorado that I moved to in 1980. Way to crowed now with a inferential type of people.

Sent the Allison ECU to Transmission Instruments today. They have a age problem with capacitors that have created an industry in rebuilding them. They are very hard to find so refurbished units are about the only option.

All of the HWH leveling system springs had broke so I’ve got a new set ordered. New Firestone air bags on the way too.

Need to get it roadworthy first. Then I’ll start on the other stuff.
