Thanks Mike, where did you see those replacements? Thanks.

My pantry closet just to the right of my refrigerator looks like hell.

All of the shelves are missing and the bare metal erector-set-like rack is exposed.

What should it really look like?

I'm going to measure for each of the shelves and cut some plywood to go on each level. But what covered up the metal supports? Some plastic trim or faux wood vinyl shelf paper?

This pantry definitely needs a makeover.

Thanks!

We just rented a campervan in New Zealand that had a setup for the dishes that I really liked. A few inches above the bottom of a drawer, a second "false bottom" was installed with cutouts that fit the plates, bowls, and cups. There was actually one cutout that fit all the plates, one that fit all of the bowls, and one for each cup. Just drop them in their slot, and no rattle at all when driving. You might want to think about this for one of your shelves.

Waipio Rim, Do you happen to have pics of that setup? Sounds pretty neat!

Tap's 1981 280 Motorhome (Purchased January 2016)

Cool idea Waipio Rim.

Anyone have a pantry closet just like mine, but looking nice, who could take a photo so I could see how the bones are covered?

Thanks!

Mark

Its time to start thinking outside the box and start making her yours, instead of what Airstream thought everyone would want (or could get away with selling).

What I see in that picture is an amazing space just waiting to be filled with incredible storage options and nifty new technology. Don't hold back, explore and thrill us with what you come up with. LED strip lights on the inner front edge to light up the entire cabinet when the door opens. Pullout drawers so you don't have to move stuff at the front, to get to stuff at the back.

The sky's the limit mate, make it your own.

Cheers
Tony

Tap's 1981 280 Motorhome (Purchased January 2016)

Tony,

I've been purposely trying to bring it back to its exact original state. Which I really like the idea of.

BUT you have a very good point. I may take a few liberties.

Thanks for the inspiration. Your rig is definitely updated for the better, so I see your point.

But for now I will have to just make it functional for as little cash as possible, because I have just laid out a lot more money getting the exhaust manifolds and donut fixed as well as my fuel blockage issues and much more.

Thanks and take care buddy!

Sorry, no pics. I imagine you could find the same setup in a newer Moho sitting on a lot. This was a 2015 Mercedes van, conversion of unknown brand, very similar to an Airstream Interstate.

This is what your pantry would originally looked like Tap.....I have exactly the same layout in my parts donor.

The shelves are mouse-fur covered ply, but I 100% agree with Tony; the design can be sympathetic to the original but shelves are shelves and its time to start putting your own stamp on things.

Hey bud, things are progressing well. I've had a lot of mechanical work done.

I'll know even better by this afternoon, as today I'm going to take the Aluminum Falcon out for another test run on the highway and hope that it doesn't beak down this time.

I WILL be at Urban Air no matter what! I can't wait!

You really don't Tap....photos don't come with 'smell-o-vision', the interior is damp and rotten.

Smell-o-vision; yes, been there; wouldn't want to go back to that. Nasty!

Mark, you do with your coach what you want, just get out and use it this year. Once you start using it you'll find needs and wants that can only be satisfied by changing her from stock; for example I had nowhere to put recycling and laundry; got rid of my very small (useless) but heavy icebox, and created two bin pullout for just that need.

We are booked in to Cyprus Lake this year for the Canadian Thanksgiving Oct 8- 10th. You are welcome to join up if you want. I'll be asking John as well, but pretty sure he'll be spending it with family.

Cheers
Tony

Tap, please be sure to replace your fuel lines as this is what cause my via not burn down. It would hurt to replace your propane lines as well.
