Successful Trip-1990 345LE

We just returned from a 4,736 mile (round) trip and the MH performed just great.
It didn't matter if we stayed anywhere between 55 to 68 MPH the gas mileage never varied, between 7-8 MPG, which I'm happy with for the carburated 454.
This was our 3rd. journey going over 4000 miles but the first where I never had to open the tool box for one reason or another. (Did have to get phillips/slot screwdriver from "junk" drawer to tighten a few rattles along the way) Was also the first trip it was never necessary to even open the battery drawer as the recently installed Xantrex converter sure did everything it was suppose to do.
It's trips as this that makes all the previous "wallet drains" well worth while.

Yes, a few 2000+ mile trips in 2010. Matter of fact we just returned (Sunday) from a 3000+ mile trip up to Cal. Redwoods and then NW Coast.

The 345 did just great, knock on wood. Now that we're home I have a few very minor issues to straighten out that developed along the way but nothing that amounts to any downtime.

Those trips are, indeed, priceless...when it runs right, it's a wonderful experience...when it breaks down, it's a 17,000 pound albatross...should this unfortunate occurrence visit you, make sure that they bring a long flat-bed wrecker...we joined Good Sam ERS, and the one tow we needed paid for itself for the next 10 years...all I had to do was sign and pay the mechanic for his work...mike

Couldn't agree more about successful trips. Seems I read alot of fuel / battery problems MH people have and usually relate it to the vehicle sitting long periods.

It might be a bit overkill but we take the 345 for a 'day' drive of about 100 miles every 10 days or so and this helps lead to the narrowing of the to-do list which I keep notes on during these drives.

We also have Good Sam ERS and the flat bed advice is very much appreciated. Seems I remember reading when you needed it, Mike.
