Side window track

I know this has been posted before but I can't find the threads. I would like to replace the track that the side windows slide in on my 1985 32.5. The track that the front cockpit windows use is a different type of track. It is the track with the metal core the side windows have a track that is a felt material with a rubber core.

Dose anyone know where I can get some of this track or have a part number for it

Also was on the screen slider there appears to have been a strip of foam tape on one side of the alum frame???

The only track available, is the schlegal channel, which has a metal lining and is covered with cloth and felt.

The other track you mention is long gone.

I like this rubber/felt Liner and have used several times with good success. It actual makes the windows slide easier than the metal/fabric channel. Slice the back every 1/4" at corners, so the lining will conform to the curve perfectly. Don't forget to cut the holes for the drains.

Thanks for the link to the window track material. Now if I can just find something to use for the plastic track life would be good.

I know Andy said it is not available, But there should be something that could be used.

Maybe Andy knows who made that track material for Airstream Andy how about it ?????????

John,

I spent several evenings searching via Google trying to find something that might replace the track and didn't have any luck. I take it your's is pretty torn up.

I've been wondering if it wouldn't be possible to make a section out of some UHMW on a milling machine. If you have a strip out can you sketch up an accurate cross sectional view? I can mill a slot on my milling machine that is about 30" long in one pass.
