Anybody have some good advice on where to attach the timing light leads on a 310 or similar AS? They won't reach the battery compartment. I figured I'd just use some small jumper cables to make them reach, or get 12v from a closer point. Ideas?

You should be able to find a 12 volt source up front behind the grill. I have a post just off the batt isolator where lots of 12 volt wires are and that is what I use. I feed the 12 volt and ground wires up in front of the radiator and then reach down through the front hood cover to grab them.

Also if you are using the lower timing marker on the bottom of the timing case that you need to use plug wire 5 (I think it is 5) to time with.

I feed the induction wire over the drivers side A arm and connect it to the third plug wire back. I try my best not to get grease on the induction wire from the upper ball joint on the A arm but I'm usually not successful there! LOL

Any point where the battery cables connect is a good place to connect the 12 volt line

Wow! Dads Toy, your wiring is a work of art! Whats this about #5 plug wire? I've never heard of using any other than #1 plug wire.

The 3rd wire on drivers side would be #5.

Typically one would time a car engine from looking at the trimming mark from the top of the engine but with a motorhome you can't see nor get to the top timing marker. So gm put another timing mark in the bottom side of the timing cover. When using this lower marker you must use plug wire 5 for timing. I read a lot about folks that have their neighbor time the MH for them and then the engine doesn't run or backfires. This is because they used the lower marker and plug wire #1.
