Removing sealant around my vent pipes on a1989 345LE Motorhome.

I have some leakage around my vent pipes when it rains. I am going to put in a new gasket and reseal, but need to remove the old sealant. Any suggestions. Plan to reseal with plybond. I am guessing that I will be removing plybond from the vent pipe covers Thanks Max
