Rebuilding Driver and Passenger Windows

I have a 300 and the seals around the driver's window are shot and it is leaking. I need to fix this before the mold sets in.

I'm not sure where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

For materials start at post 137.

There are a lot of threads covering installation. If you have trouble finding them let me know and I'll try and point out a couple.

I had this problem after replacing the "fuzzy schlegel" stuff that the windows ride in. A tech at the Airstream factory went after them with a hammer and a wood shim and had everything lined up in about a half hour. Sadly I was not able to watch him work, just saw the tools that he took in with him.

Ran into the same issues while replacing the seals in Peanut. Lots of tweaking and adjusting of the cockpit window frames were required. The passenger side was in exceptionally bad condition. Several days were spent trying to work through the problems.

The biggest problem boiled down to the fact that the curve of the glass is different than the curve of the window frame/shell.

Here is an old thread from us old timers who had classics years ago. The one thing I will always remember about replacing all my window seals is meeting my orthopedic surgeon. The classic is long gone but I still use the same orthopedic surgeon.
