New brake rotors for my 290le help please
Hi everybody
I’ve recently purchased a 290 le classic motor home that has sadly been left to sit, I want to get her back on the road and useable again.
Can anybody help me with locating front and rear brake rotors and pads that could be shipped to the uk
Thanks in advance
Ben

Yes, while we can be 99% sure of the peticular parts you require, always include model year (of chassis, not body) in your post. I for example have a 1982 P30 chassis underneath my 1983 310.
Rockauto.com, NAPA may ship to the UK. If not, maybe one of the U.S people on this site maybe willing to forward the package onto the UK if you have it shipped to a person in the U.S first.
I'd be willing to do it for you, but unfortunately shipping anything from Canada to the UK is a lot more expensive than from the US.
The parts list below may help out.

Use the Chevy VIN number to get the manufacturing sheet (RPO), and from that you can get the parts anywhere (RockAuto, NAPA, etc).
For example this post from BoomSounds 1991 ( http://www.airforums.com/forums/f311...ad-166569.html)

Ben, if I were you, I would ask the mods to move your post to the Motorhome forum. Most of the MH guys never look at the trailer sections so you will miss a lot of input if you hang around the ‘dark side’

Any chance the rotors would still be usable if you had the surfaces machined? Would certainly save on shipping weight.
Apologies in advance if you already considered this.

Hi Greg,
Honestly I hadn’t considered till the other day when it was suggested by a second person. It’s something I’d consider but I’m limited as to what I can do, where she’s sat I’m not sure they’d be happy with it sat on axle stands for a week.
Thanks though great idea and a good cost saving

I would suggest you cross reference your VIN on the AC Delco site and check those part numbers all match up
Run your VIN through compnine to get the RPO codes and that may guide you on specific options
Check that ROckauto isn’t giving you options. It is easy to end up with the wrong bits.
Where are you based?

Hi nick,
Thanks I didn’t realise delco had that option I’ll give it a spin
I live in northants but the Moho is an hour and a half away hence trying to gather as much info and parts before I go back to her
Thanks again Ben

Agh, not too far from me in Oxford. Did you buy that 290 from Eel-pie crew or import it?
On the parts piece, even the Delco site can be confusing, especially on some brake parts and the hydroboost, which is why it's good to establish the RPO codes from your VIN.

Try Compnine, you’ll have to pay a small fee. Have a look at my vin/RPO result and you’ll see the type of output so you can decide if it is worthwhile for you

Thanks again
And apologies, if I could read a full post then I wouldn’t have to ask people to repeat themselves
