Before starting the motor I have been disconnecting from the shore power. Im wondering if this is required or am I being overly cautious? Now that its summer it would be nice to continue running AC, etc while the motor warms up.

I've started up on shore power for years and no issues. Not as a habit but usually because I'm trying to figure out a motor/mechanical issue and need to leave the power to the house on. Curious if this is a bad practice, and why, or a non-issue.
Usually when preparing to leave a camp site, I have the motor running. This also allows the heat or AC in the drivers area to reach comfortable temps. Disconnecting and rolling up the cord is the last thing I do other than a walk around to check compartment doors.
I have also noticed that the Frig stays on shore power until its disconnected, then switches to 12v.
