And quite importantly the expandable gate for easy access.

Maybe Ill be able to host one of our get togethers, once things are a bit farther along here.

Cheers Richard

Whoa, I obviously talk too much. Man your place is looking coooooooool as can be Richard. Many many moons ago I did some serious partying just south of you there in the Destin / Fort Walton area. Reggae on the roof tops and mud bugs galore! Ahhhhhh yes, long before I met me Lynny. Fond memories of that area except for the hangovers

So the rad won't be done till mid next week so it gives me some days to do other things while the front end is open. Started the install of a new engine coolant preheater today.
Changing out hose clamps to a different style. Grease the water pump. Clean up a little wiring. Plenty to keep me busy till the rad is ready.

So don't be surprised if Lynn and I give you a call to come visit! You can always say no

Hey guys do work a stop over into future fla travel plans.
Can now offer 20amps and water, more coming as permitted.

Vycan there are all sorts of fun kids activities available in Panama City beach, amusement parks, a Gulf world for marine critters, big put put golf place , go karts, even a roller skating rink.

I've just broken the ice so far, need some guests to inspire doing some of the fun stuff myself.

Mike and Lynn, you guys might enjoy seeing some new country after having warn out your route to Colo and back. Come on down, would love to catch with you again.

I'm thinking a southern swing for the traveling classic motorhome road show may be called for soon. Fall and spring seem ideal for this area.
I've just got to get my facilities a bit more together or plan for a nearby park, plenty in the panhandle to chose from.

Cheers Richard

Gracious offer Richard, I'm sure we will make it down your way. We've been east to New York, West to Colorado, north to Lake Earie, so it's about time we head south eh? Would be a great bit of fun to catch up and explore the panhandle.

rear and side camera system on your 310 rig

Mike
last fall in Cooperstown i didn't discuss at length with you the +/- of yhr camera rig you were installing. I should have but got side tracked as usual.
My 1995 Sony has finally crapped out on me and i'm in the market for a goodness technology set up. i prefer wireless but past experience has been not so great on other vehicles so i am open to a wired system as well for the95 360 Classic
I think Dakota is going to replace his as well on his 95 360
i would like a side and rear camera system with a 7 inch screen so i can put it in the same spot I'm used to looking at in the past.
i can't remember what unit you bought and i would be interested in how it has performed for you. if you have some feed back or suggestions I'm open to all
We are pulling out of Pa early may for a run to California to see family then join the North West caravan through August ending up in the dakotas . Looks like another 15k mile jaunt till is all over then maybe back to Bar Harbor ?
I definitely want a good camera unit for safety and to keep an eye on the CRV toad. again I'm open too your feed back. Im not doing that trip without a 100% camera system working. I suppose I got my moneys worth out of the OEM 95 Sony

Sure thing Richard. I bought a two camera system with a rear and side view from Rear View Safety. It's a wired system and I upgraded from a 7" to 9" monitor. Ive been on several trips with it and it's performed well so far. The monitor is a pain to program and get the settings right. But once you get the hang of navigating through the buttons you're good.

I wired mine a bit different than most but it wasn't difficult. I have it so it's on all the time when the ignition is turned on. I also didn't like the idea of having to reach up to the monitor buttons every time I wanted to switch between cameras. Safety issue. So, I bought an "on-on" switch that I mounted right next to my spot light switch next to the seat. Ran the trigger wires to each side of the switch so I can switch between side and rear view without reaching for the monitor. It worked out real well. Ive got a picture somewhere of where I mounted the switch, I'll try to find it. My old system was wired also so I used the same path for the new cable.....over the roof along the awning rail to the fridge vent, then down the vent thru the floor and back up near the heater core behind the passenger kick panel.

Mike, I ordered all of the wire for my Argosy through Amazon.

Ancor marine grade wire

Good quality wire at what I considered to be reasonable prices.

Brad

I need some suggestions fellas. When I had the front end apart to have radiator work done
I added a 120v coolant preheater on my heater hose line, right before the heater core mounted next to the coolant overflow tank. The preheater has a two ft 120v power cord to manually plug it in for use. I want to hard wire the preheater to a switch inside the cab and tie it into the rigs 120v system.
Looking for suggestions on where you might tie that in. The closest 120v device is an outlet under the curb side windows but it's already got a lot going on. There is an unused outlet hidden behind the kitchen cabinets that once serviced the built in blender. Wondering if any of you would have an idea where you might pick up 120v to run in front of the fire wall for the preheater. Ill put a switch leg in it. Ill most likely end up running the wire below the floor to get to the front from where ever I tie in.

Mike,

If you're thinking of trying to add a cable/wire to an existing 120 vac receptacle box in your coach you're in for a tough time. Due to the wall thickness Airstream had to use shallow boxes to fit. This effectively reduces the mount of room to make connections inside the box.

However if you're thinking about poking a hole up inside the sink cabinet from underneath and plugging into an open outlet that task will be a lot easier.

Assuming you're looking at the latter method then my suggestion is to route the cable from your heater to the cabinet in anyway you deem reasonable. Once you have the cable up inside the cabinet put a male 120vac connector on it and plug it into the outlet of choice. Secure the cable as you see fit and be done with it.

The only other reasonable option (to me anyway!) would be to run a cable from your heater all the way back to your circuit breaker box, add another breaker and connect right to the breaker.

Nothing is ever easy on these rigs!

Oh yeah, got your reply, thanks!

Brad

Well we are thinking along the same lines Brad. I was thinking of running the cable through the floor under that hidden outlet behind the cabinet, putting a male plug end on it and the running underneath the floor towards the front. Ill need to run back up through the floor for a switch leg in the cab then underneath to the heater.
That's about the only realistic option I can think of. Ok, well thanks for confirming my plan of attack.

Mike, I would run a 20 Amp line underneath directly to the circuit breaker box, then run that line to wherever you want to put the switch, from the switch to the heater. 1500 watt heater, correct !
