Shorts? In California, when it dips below 75 you see them out in Ugg Boots and Parkers.... they have to turn the AC up so they are warm enough... ROFL

And we won't talk about the hilarity that ensues when it rains down here in Southern California. The folk on the street all look skyward like they don't understand what is hitting them on the head...
Or snow--it really gets weird when it starts snowing where it normally does not...

Hmmmm, that reminds me....I have to brush the snow off the Moho this weekend.
One question......does Santa have to put wheels under his sled skis when delivering in So-Cal, or does he change vehicles entirely?
Cheers

In SoCal, he usually shows up in a Helicopter, a Surfboard, or a stretch limousine....depending, of course on the venue.
He's been known to skydive, but according to recent news, he's not always that good at it...really bad landing last time...

How do you find those LED headlights work Mike? Worth the price? I'm waiting for a clear lens LED replacement myself.
Beautiful country! I know John is counting the days....-16C (3.2F) with a wind chill of -23 (-9.4F) the other morning. He may have some ice chipping to do before he joins you down south.
Cheers
Tony

Hey Tony! We haven't had the chance to use the lights yet. Daytime driving so far. So we have yet to test em out. It is gorgeous out here right now, daytime temps in the 50s and 60s. The sun is an amazing force of nature out here, the temps may be in the 40s but if you're in the sun it's a tshirt or light jacket. You get such a good sense of solar warming, its really something else.
The rig has been running well, no real problems. I did have a hiccup with my hand lever on the ebrake. The adjustment knob on the end, and whatever it threads into, stripped. So the cable would slip whenever pulled it to set the brake. I was able to do a temp fix so I do have an e-brake. Pretty important with no park prawl on the Allison. Motor temps have been keeping us toasty while on the road. Covered the grill with reflectix, seems to make about a 5+ degree difference in operating temps. We dumped our tanks this morning for the first time in a week. No problems with freezing with the cold overnight temps. So far so good.

Thought, I use Mikes Bar & Grill to post an update from John (shepherd57). After leaving a day late, because of bad weather, he crossed the Arkansas line this evening and is hunkering down in a Walmart for the night.
He said the rig is running fine after an initial scare when he was leaving. His headlights went out with some smoke coming from the dashboard. But being the smart man he is, he just replaced the blown fuse with a slightly bigger one and all has been well.
His plan is to get close to Austin by tomorrow and roll into Austin on Friday morning. He has a set of rear Centramatics waiting for him and we will install them this weekend. He said that he has internet access problems with his phone plan, so he may be out of touch.
Mike, if you dont mind, i will post another update once he gets here.
Thanks

I seem to recall somebody posting that John would be heading south with one eye on the road, with the other one eye balling the only trustworthy gauge he has; all the while sniffing for smoke.🤔 Who was that I wonder......
Hell freezing over can't stop a Canuck from heading to warmer weather.
I did suggest undoing Zippy and having his DW drive ahead of him.😂

Well, John, Ann and Jackson the kitty made it and brought a little cold front with them. It was in the 70's yesterday, now we are in the 40's. bbrrr.
Nice sounding diesel in that 325. We had lots of fun visiting today and get the Airstream hooked up. And as you can see Tony, Zippy made it just fine.

Good, Zippy looks all tuckered out pushing John's coach all that way.😉

Man, John can put some serious hours in behind the wheel!!!!! I told him this morning that Ann is gonna thump him one if he keeps putting those long days in. Glad everyone is safe n sound.
Cold snap moved in here near Denver yesterday also. A little snow and temps in the twenties. Snug as a bug in the old beast though. Traffic around Denver is absolutely ridiculously heavy, ALL DAY it seems. Rented a car for the next week for family holiday events.
Merry Christmas to all of you! Wishing you all the best!
