Most alternators come with a pulley designed for a different belt width than what the P30 uses.
I ended up going to a alternator specialist to get the proper pulley and no more problems.
Also all that belt slippage adds more heat to the front alternator bearing and rotor, making it die faster than it should.
Good to know, thanks, I'll check that!

Did you order directly from them, or via Amazon?
Not sure it makes a difference, but mine is supposed to be here by the 1st.

I'll let you know when it ships/arrives

I did mine on Amazon. It is a bit cheaper direct, but not sure about shipping costs.

You may just be closer to the seller?

Is the NT 30 SP a direct replacement for the original furnace in our rigs?

I'll be watching with interest to see how the install works out.

Thanks for the heads up.

Cheers Richard

Richard, it is on the 310s but I'm not sure about the 345s. I believe I recall something else in the 345s.

My 84 310 had the NT30. The two furnaces in the 86 345 that I dismantled had either a different brand (Dometic?) or different model of furnaces installed.

No way they were interchangeable.

That's my guess as well, I'm guessing it's coming from the west coast (closer to China)

Interesting, I could have sworn it was the same vendor I used and the same price of $499. Now your link shows $613

I paid $515.61 with prime shipping
Amazon will have the same item at the same link with multiple sellers at different prices, see at the bottom where it says
Quote:
Note: Available at a lower price from other sellers, potentially without free Prime shipping.
"Other sellers" being a hyperlink to the other listings of the same item

Yep, lowest is $613 (today) from PPL Motor Homes (Must be a run on NT-30's)

I did hear back from the seller this afternoon.
They claim they sent me a email saying my furnace is back-ordered.
I never received that email, but they did send me a tracking number claiming it was on its way, so somebody is confused.

This 6th Street Supply is a RV parts supply with suspiciously low prices on their website.
I wonder if anyone else has had problems with them?

Anyway, I guess you will get your furnace before me.
Whenever I do get mine, I will measure the sheet metal thickness of the old & new to see if they are getting cheaper in the construction.

I recently found a low price for a hot water heater for John (shepherd57)and ordered it. I had confirmed through E-mail that it was in fact the one I wanted. What I received was the incorrect one without the motor-aid option. You can only communicate with this vendor through E-mail. They will not take it back and I called the manufacturer who sent it to me and they will not give me a RGA, so therefore I will not pay them. I believe the vendor (RV Parts country, out of Kentucky is a guy sitting in his parents living room in his underwear selling parts that he never has in stock ! So, my recommendation is that nobody deals with RV Parts Country until this matter is resolved. I taught myself an important lesson and now only deal with people that I can actually talk to. Regards, Bob

Moved around today and noticed the water temp gauge is now broken... Worked fine Sunday... So I'm down to 50% of my gauges working

Further cements my decision to redo the dash this winter!

Coolant temp sender unit is on the top front of the radiator, single wire. Might just be a bad connection right there. Mine cleaned right up and has worked well since.

Thanks Brad, I'm allways on the lookout for sale deal.

But I'll check into what came with the 345.

Cheers Richard

If it is a 83 454 as in post #1, then the coolant sensor should be in the drivers side of the engine block.
On TBI setups the ECM uses a temp sensor near the radiator thermostat port on the intake manifold.

Yes, if the wire is open or shorted the gauge will read off scale.
If it is a bad gauge, these guys may have something similar to the original.
