Looking for source for generator exhaust extension

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help find a source for an extension for the exhaust for the Honda EV6010 installed in my 1984 310 Limited MH.

The generator compartment is located curb-side rear, under the bedroom window. In some cases I have had my CO detector go off when the generator is running. This only happens occasionally when the wind and other conditions are just right. I'd like to get an extension for the exhaust so that it will be directed above or away from the rig. I have seen two kinds of extensions. One has a rigid pipe and mounting hardware which holds the rigid pipe vertically on the side of the rig, the other style has flexible tubing which allows you to direct the exhaust as you like.

It is this latter type I am looking for. Anyone know of an internet or mail order source?

A friend of mine took his moho to a local muffler shop, and for $50.00 he had his generator exhaust pipe relocated and extended.

Thanks for the suggestion and I will check with the local muffler shop. What I'm looking for is something I can attach to direct the exhaust (and its sound) away from the rig when I'm parked, then remove and stow while I'm under way. Perhaps the muffler shop can fab something like that for me but I have seen kits on other rigs.

Thanks. Did you see the flexible type on the Camping World site? All I saw was the rigid sort.

I did a google search, this is one of many options I found. I believe I've seen it at the hardware store as well. Good luck.

You can buy orange flexible silicone ducting by the foot. It'll handle exhaust fine.

If you add some flex tubing be careful it get ungodly hot! I used some on a genset and getting closer than a few inches results in a burn. 10x worse than standard exhaust tube

there is a device valled venturie.but you can make your own just a pipe going up pass your roof attach it to your pipe with an air gap hot gases go up.

Thanks, the problem with the gen-turi for my application is that it would interfere with opening the awning.

Ask the exhaust shop to bid on running the pipe over to the other side, then. Depending on what equipment is already there, it could be inexpensive... pipe is cheap as long as complex, labor-intensive bends needn't be made. Also ask about another muffler along the line, since the noise is bothersome to you; a long pipe gets boomy sounding, even downstream of a decent muffler. Any such device must be BEFORE any type of venturi-coupling. A really good exhaust shop could make you a permanent, unique pipe to the roof, too... perforated stainless guard, anyone? Airstream shaped brackets, maybe? OTOH, that would not be good for aerodynamics, going down the road, unless your genset is toward the rear and the pipe could run up the back. Or even just point it out under the bumper like the engine exhaust, fewer openable windows back there usually.

I always wondered about windage and generators... now I know, the fumes from that extra little exhaust pipe DO blow in under some conditions.

I was told by my RV guy that the exhaust had to exit at a location that was not below any slide or window, I guess with the CO that migh help prevent problems since the warm exhaust will rise.
