Looking for a replacement hub to fit my tag axle
I need some help finding a replacement hub for my tag axle on an '88 345 MH. I'm on the road and currently spending the week in St Augustine, Fl. I broke my rear tag hub (how I don't know) and had to limp into the RV Park with a tag wheel off. Does anyone know where to find a replacement, preferably in Florida, within driving distance from St. Augustine? If not in Florida, where I could find one and have it shipped in ASAP. It may be because of the Easter Weekend, but know one I have called seems to be open or have one. I assume getting the bearings will be easier but that may be my next problem. As far as doing the work, the axle looks good, the original bearings look good but while the hub is off I thought it good to replace rather than clean and use old bearing? The part of the hub that encloses the bearings and holds the dust cap on has broken off completely. I have no idea why other than to say the rig is 22 years old. Thanks in advance for any advice or help you can send my way. Mr. D

Seems to me that Ron and Debbie (str8strm) had to replace one. You might search their threads and/or send them a PM/email.

I'm not sure what exactly it is that you are looking for--terms/parts I am not too familiar with, but if you need a ride, let me know- I am in SA. I'm not busy until five-ish. Not sure what is open tomorrow.

Thanks for the offer Rae, I have a car and will be hitting the road looking for parts today(Monday). It is so nice to know that people like yourself are willing to help an out of town traveler. Thanks again, Garry.

There's another thread here in the Classic Motorhomes section, Titled: Henschen Tag Axle, dated 10-23-2006, by Howard Lefkowitz that offers help providing any info on the tag including quick fix hints.
Have you tried contacting Andy at Inland RV? I would think he will know if the parts you need are available.

When I had to replace one of the drums on the tag axle, Andy was the man to call; When I had to replace all the bushing in the tag axle, Andy was the man to call.
Andy, I have your phone number written on the wall right next to the electric power selector switch.
