Driver's side mirror

The mirror is electric and it will adjust right and left but not up and down. I can hear the motor trying to make it work up and down but nothing happens.

To be specific, the whole unit/mirror head just tilts out. You can move it back upright by hand but it won't stay. The up and down mechanism is not working as I said and I think the problem is related to the tilting out but am not sure. The mirror head appears to be on a ball sitting in the arm.

Since my mirrors are not electric, my experience does not apply. Perhaps the actuating gears are stripped?

Do you know who the mfg of your mirrors is? Perhaps they can advise.

The adjustment for the ball is an Allen wrench bolt...should be located to the front and bottom of the arm...does any of this help, or is it just more confusing...?

Driver's side mirror

It tightened easily. Thanks. Now the side to side electric adjustment isn't working. The up and down works fine. I am wondering if I should force the mirror by hand to the left as it is directed so far right that maybe it is stuck. The passenger side mirror electric adjustment is working fine. What do you think?

My first inclination would be to take it out behind the barn and shoot it...,but after that, maybe the adjustment with the Allen wrench should be a fine tune...then tighten the allen wrench bolt after setting the angle...?

BTW...hammers and mirrors should NOT be used in the same repair sequence...
