Latest Find

It seems like us MH folks don't get many of these fun stories, so I thought I would share this one. - I really had no right to be looking, but I just can't help myself. I was checking some of the lesser viewed classified ads, and what did I find but a lost soul. It's was obviously the long lost twin of our '85 345. It was easy to see it was in distress and I had no choice but to bring it to a good Airstream home. That's kind of the same way we've ended up with a few more cars than are truly practical. Interestingly enough, this 345 has some of the performance upgrades that I wanted to put on ours, so I may do a little swapping before I send it to it's next happy home. We will of course do proper background checks on whoever applies to adopt this underappreciated baby. I've included a few pictures so you can share the in the enjoyment. Took it on a shakedown cruise this past weekend and found several minor items that were easily corrected with a wrench, screwdriver, or a little elbow grease. It's all part of the fun.

Ron/Debbie,
Nice find! I could probably be talked out of my trailer if I found one like that. Looks great.

Thanks Dave. We will probably never part with out old standby, but there is some special excitement about a new toy. Suddenly it seems easier to scrape, clean, and wrench. Ron

I'm logging off now before my wife sees this! I've told her she can't have Chaplin Kents MoHo and he's got the only one! She wants to do Europe in it! Do you know what the petrol costs?!

Ron & Debbie,
I always enjoy reading about others in this great land of ours that are as impulsive as I am, especially about Airstreams. I immediately went and got my wife and said "see honey, there are others like me-I really don't need professional help"!!

my 280 Classic was sold to someone in UK. What do you all do about the steering wheel? Relocate it?

I am glad to see folks still interested in the classic motorhomes and rescuing them. These are truly unique and terrific. I have seen some real deals out there, and almost wished I had the room to get another. But if I did I'd be sleeping in it every night if you get my drift.

I suppose it's always possible to relocate it. Personally, I'd get the wife hanging out the passenger window giving clearance for my next overtaking manuver! Lol! Alternatively, put it straight on a boat to France and go native! Lol!

Of course it could mean that she's right and we all need help. Nah!

Its fun to foster a Motorhome

What is kind of ironic is that this weekend we got projects done on it that we have not done yet on our keeper Just don't anyone tell MoHo#1----she did not see us sneak off last weekend!!

Sorry you two..it's too late, I already left a note on #1s windshield, facing in of course...before walking away I thought I heard a sigh or maybe it was just traped exhaust.

been thru most of the diagnostics and found what works and what does not. It is a nice coach and hopefully when we put it up for sale it will go to an airstream friend from here. It will be fun for someone

our tiki treasure of course

She is our keeper although #2 has a very strong motor with an edelbrock carb, MSD ignition, thorley headers, jardine exhaust, etc. We will upgrade to those when we rebuild our motor, maybe proactively next year.

Oh good, I'm safe for a little longer. Last summer we were seroiusly looking at several 34' trailers, but Kathy really liked your MoHo when she viewed it back at the Pismo rally in 05. She said we could get the best of both worlds with a MoHo and our car trailer to carry one of our Citroen's camping. Jeff
