Keeler lock cylinder

Does anyone have a source for a Keeler lock cylinder on a 1980 Airstream motorhome. Most of the links I found online are dead or sold out.

I have found this, https://www.woodlandtravelcenterstore.com/product/airstream-lock-cylinder-and-keys-keeler/ and I'm thinking it will work, the only issue is that they don't provide shipping to Canada.

My old cylinder appears to be a modified bargman that has had a screw added to the back of the tumbler for releasing and engaging the lock. It has since broken in half and always had the issue of not being able to unlock or lock from the inside - I believe the screw was placed incorrectly.

Matt,

I'm not sure the lock cylinder from Woodland Travel Center is identical to the original cylinder in the Keeler latches. It appears that the main body is shorter and the pin is longer. However it's entirely possible this cylinder will work for those very reasons. The pin has to reach deep enough to engage the lock plate and with a shorter body the pin would need to be longer to make it work.

It would likely be worth buying to verify fit, especially if Woodland's is willing to accept returns.

I just glanced at the Additional Information tab and the dimensions appear to match the original. If you buy one let us know how it fits!

Woodland Travel Center will actually ship to Canada, you just have to call the store and talk to the Parts Department. Hope this works out for you!

I had seen the Woodland RV site a couple of weeks ago and got right on the phone, only to be told they have no stock; couldn't remember when they last had stock, and five other Classic owners were looking for cylinders as well.

Yes, they are different than our stock cylinders....but looked promising enough for me to want to order one and fix my one lock....the other works just fine, (thanks to Brad).

Cheers

Well dang. I ordered one yesterday as well figuring if it worked I'd have a spare and if it didn't I could at least let everyone know.

The search continues.......

Matt,

A couple of years ago I spent hours browsing Craigslist around the country and actually found a mostly complete latch assembly listed in New Jersey (I'm in Kentucky). After communicating with the seller and realizing what he had was what I wanted I then spent a few nervous weeks waiting to see if the parts would actually arrive. I had to pay up front by sending him a check. Fortunately everything worked out and I got the parts.

If you do search try using both KBC and Keeler in your searches.

Good luck!

Brad
