How to google search a forum

If you aren't aware of some of googles more advanced features, here you go, this trick has helped me immensely in the past.

Step 1: Go to www.google.com

Step 2: Enter your search term

Step 3: type site:airforums.com/forums/f311
(you can change this, if you want to search the whole site, use site:airforums.com/forums , that's what the search box does)

Then hit enter, and viola

OPTIONAL, you can narrow results by a date range

Step 4: After searching, Click "Tools", should be on the right under the search bar

Step 5: You will see "Any Time" and "All Results" appear. Click "Any Time"

Step 6: You will see a drop down appear. Choose a date such as 1 year or custom range

Examples
panel removal, just classic motorhomes:
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=panel+removal+s...Fforums%2Ff311

rivet removal, just classic motornomes:
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=rivet+removal+s...Fforums%2Ff311

There you go! Hope that helps!

Good tutorial. Also you can use the search block at the top of the page. It has been greatly improved over the previous useless site search.

Thanks

The search box looks like it does the same thing, but only for the whole forum.

I've only been here 3 days and already seen a fair bit of complaining about the search, so i figured I would drop this in case it helps

The Airforums Search works tremendously more better than it used to.

The reputation of the "old" search function was deservedly terrible. Unfortunately that "Search" function is still linked in the blue menu bar above, just under the "new" Google-powered search box with the blue border, which works great!

To the forum admins and mods -- could the "old" search process be relegated to ancient history please?

Thanks,

Peter

PS -- I have posted a note in an older Google Search thread, within the Forum Admin forum about this:
