Got the 310 - but not the jacket
You've all heard or read the story of the 310 jacket. About a year ago, I purchased the 1982 - 310 from Peter H Airstreamer, but I couldn't talk him out of the 310 jacket! Oh well, maybe someday.
The 310 was in storage for a few months until I could get a shed built for it. Only a few short trips locally. So the last few months I have been busy getting to know it and doing some things "on the list"
I just wanted to introduce myself and I hope to get to know more about the great classics.
Hope to soon be ontheroadagn

Welcome to Airforums and congratulations on your 310 purchase!
Is this the 310 that has the aftermarket fuel injection system?
We all know the only reason Peter buys Airstream motorhomes is to collect the jackets. Sure does seem like an awful expensive way to get a jacket!

Yes it has an early model Holly throttle body fuel injection. 950 Commander I believe it's called. Runs good.

I need some help finding a coolant temp sending unit for a second Teleflex temp gauge. The one in the dash panel works fine. I have a second one in a 3 panel below the dash along with a transmission temp and coach battery voltmeter. The second one has never been hooked up. It was wired in for power and lights but never had a sender or sender wire to it. I have located a Teleflex sender (p/n TS26631) that was suppose to be the right one. Installed in the other head - same location. When installed and hooked up, the gauge reads pegged HOT. It ohm tests at 630 ohms at 73 degrees F. I found a chart online for Teleflex and it says they should be 600 to 800 ohms at room temp.
If I swap the wires with the dash panel sender, the dash panel gauge reads pegged HOT and the second gauge reads correct. So I removed the Dash panel sender and ohm checked it. 3000 ohms at 73F ! Huge difference. There are no markings on it as far as make or part number.
I have tried a sender from stewart warner that ohm checked at 854 but got basically the same thing, pegged HOT when the dash gauge was at 185 F.
Anybody have any ideas or a source for Teleflex info?
Dave

Dave, I got those Teleflex gauges at a rare Ebay auction and snapped them up. Unfortunately they came without any documentation. Sorry, but can't help on this one.

Thanks Peter - so all gauges - no sending units with them?
Now that I know how to, I will post some pictures soon to show you what I been up to over winter.
I just cleaned and backflushed the cooling system with BG Cleaner and replaced all the coolant hoses, including the heater hoses to the back heater (47 feet of gates green stripe 5/8 heater hose) which is why I wanted to hook up the second temp gauge while I had everything drained.
And rebuilt the aux heater

Been a while since I've posted anything on here. There has been a lot done the past year but never got around to posting it. Had a great trip to the Get Together in September 2019 at Cooperstown.
Now I have some more work to do!

Awesome Dave, Gear Vendors, i assume. I think you will be thrilled to get those rpm down. Not sure if you saw that I jumped of the cliff again, with a 92 350 LE. So, sorry, the jacket will be put to good use

Peter, Yes-Santa brought me a gear vendors!
Can’t wait to get it installed. Bring the RPM’s down along
with the engine noise. Hope to see you, the 350, and the jacket
at the next get together!

Installation of the Gear Vendors went well.
Had front driveshaft shortened 14". Replaced all u-joints and carrier bearings, and had all 3 balanced.

Road test was good. Smooth at 65 MPH and 2500 RPM in OD. Operation in and out of overdrive is great. Splitting gears will be nice to have in the hills.

Almost ready to get out of the driveway for a change. Leaving April 4th for a wedding in Destin and then the rest of the month to make a circle around Florida.
Spent some time on the brakes this winter like some others on here lately. Mine were definitely not worn out, but 15 to 20 years old from the date stamp on the hoses. The right rear caliper was not releasing. Replaced all 4 calipers, all brake hoses and two front brake lines that twisted off trying to get the hoses off. Also replaced master cylinder, brake booster, power steering pump and all lines and hoses connecting those.
Decided not to tow the jeep this trip.
Hope to get down to the Keys. Has anyone been to a campground there?
