Easy fix for Door Problems
When your entry door no longer closes correctly, look at the hinges. The bottom of the hinge contains a washer which acts as a bearing when the door swings. This washer wears out and is often totally gone. If the stripes on your door don't line up with the body striping, you need a new washer. Get some 1/4 inch nylon washers from Lowe's or somewhere & nip out a small segment with cutters. Lift the door (having a friend is helpful here) and hold it up while you push the cut washer into the space between the door part and the body part of the hinge. Sometimes you need two or even three washers to bring the door up to the right level. Use Nylon and not any hard material like stainless - that would eat its way into the cast aluminum of the hinge body and then you have a new hinge to buy.
