Thanks everyone, much appreciated. I ordered some refills ANCO 53-20 from a fleet parts house. I'm not sure they will work. I had written down that part number in my book a long time ago and I'm not sure where I got that number. I should have ordered the Trico 63-200 (silver) or 63-201 (black) as Chiefair did. Time will tell sometime in the future.

Summer temps of 115 degrees are a bit much to deal with, but last weekend we had a couple of days in the low 90's. So we made a weekend trip to the MH. Its been over 10 years since I drove up there at night. Its difficult to do after hitting a cow at midnight 10 miles from the ranch 13 years ago.

We had some good wine, good food and got out riding the RZR, even did a night run out back. One of the best items we purchased is the portable refrig. I've used it now for about a year. So awesome getting my food to and from the ranch and keeping it cold while the MH refrig cools down.

Glad to see you got him up there.
We just got back from our Alaska cruise the 1st in San Fran. All over the news of extreme heat inland [emoji29].
Sounds like y'all had a great time.

Hello Chris. It’s probably been 7 to 10 years since he has gone up there or whenever it was the last time we went to Yosemite. I think the only reason he went is because it was the weekend before Labor Day so the place would be pretty empty and because I said we will leave the truck home and drive up in the X3! Hope you had a great time on your cruise. We did an Alaska southbound cruise about 25 years ago. We had a great time. There were newlyweds and seniors and then us on that cruise. We were so young then. I guess we fit into that seniors group now. We are 25 miles miles south of the SF. It was 102 here today. It’s been a long time since I remember it over a 100 here. And I can smell smoke this evening!

Progressive Insurance Rip Off

Insurance in this country is such a rip off. I've had Progressive for some years now. I paid over $300 last month for next year. Today, I get an email stating I owe another $42 due this month. Progressive Insurance, you are now ripping me off. We had a contractual arrangement for a full year's payment which I made last month, yet now you say I owe more money. This certainly seems to be the American way, right! Oh a computer mistake? No, this is 2022. Jeez, I'm so damn tired of this grifting that has been going on for many years now. Am I pissed, oh you bet I am!

Just had an unpleasant phone conversation with Progressive Insurance. This "was" a policy that I have had for some years. I saw on the renewal that they had the garaging address and the mailing address incorrect of which I made sure they understood years back. Per our CC&Rs at the ranch property we can not set up permanent residency. This means that the ranch can not accept mail at the ranch. So this means that my registration, insurance, etc, etc, etc, has to have a garaging address and a mailing address. It is a royal pain in the ass (no disrespect to the crown), but this seems to be something new to insurance companies and government agencies or is it just more of the american con job that we face every day? With california on fire yet once again this year, I'm sure the insurance company would deny a claim as they always try their best to do if something happened and there was a technical mistake in the policy information. Good thing the Mh didn't burn to the ground last year during our massive fire nor the year before in the massive fire we faced. I would have been denied coverage even though I had paid my premium. A typical american insurance company rip off. With idiots running the world, I guess there is not much I can do. I canceled the policy this evening and I guess I will just assume the risk myself. Of course this means I can't drive the MH on the road and I'm screwed if some idiot trips on my extension cord from the MH to the cargo trailer and sues me. Well that's the american way I guess! Pissed of, you you bet!!!

All that for 42 dollars? Even at 342 bucks it’s still a great deal if your 50k MH burns up. Or you need hospitalization after an accident.

I pay 955 a year for Proggressive insurance here in Michigan. Considering the number of fires in CA, I think you’re (you were) getting a pretty good deal.

Good price for 60K, if thats really replacement value and not just agreed on value, which means in case of a loss, its still up to you to establish the loss valuation. My bill was 800.- for 30 k agreed on value, the most i could get at the time.

Interesting to note is that the guy who bought my 350 had to pay $900 for 3 month full coverage, but fully insured for his purchase price regardless what may happen.

Progressive's value is only a mere $5000. Not much of a difference in premium between just liability insurance and full coverage so at least $5000 is something.

No, it wasn't all that for just $42. My issue is that I'm 100% certain Progressive would have denied any claim due to the addresses being incorrect.

This is California, the land of crazy. Don't get me wrong, I guess I'm considered to be one of those liberal nutbags myself, but this is a state that if one looks at someone cross eyed, they get sued. Even though I haven't had the MH on the road for many years, I have to make sure I have liability coverage.

You guys are so lucky that you can insure your MHs for $50K or more!

Give this company a try Dean. Have been with them with home, auto and business for over 25 years, and they have been great for us.

The Small Things...

Sometimes its the small things that make one the happiest! The weather has finally changed and the temps are now in the 80s. Its time to tackle some items on my long list.

I bought a security camera to hang on my cargo trailer so I can see outside when I have the MH windows all covered up and keep an eye on things when I'm not here.

I installed a couple new barrel latches on two galley cabinet doors. The bed pulls out and with an extra foam piece, it becomes a "full" sized bed. I installed a couple of rubber latches to keep the bed against the wall. The bed rail along with wall was coming loose so I added some more rivets and a bracket on the side so it is solid against the wall again.

Sun Shield for Overflow Tank

This will be the third time that I have replaced the radiator overflow tank. The sun hits it much of the day and the plastic just deteriorates. I might have better luck if I bought a higher quality tank. I made a sun shield for the windshield washer tank 10 years ago and it is still doing well. So I made a sun shield for the overflow tank today.

That plastic isn’t protected by a UV coating because it was intended to be covered under the hood from the sun .

Put a vertical strip of painter’s tape on one side away from the sun so you can see the fluid level the paint it with plastic addhesion promoter then paint it whatever color you want , pull the tape and now it’s protected from the sun.
