We biked to Mirror Lake today. It's sad to see it dry. Hopefully this winter will be the beginning of the end for our global warming caused 5 year drought in California!

Dean, remember that this is coming from an expat Brit and a Canadian.....

The OP's of the constitution assumed that the present day morals and ethical standard expected of a gentleman would be continued. That has not been the case unfortunately. The OP's could also never fathom a kid armed with a rifle capable of carrying 100 rounds and needing to reload in less than 10 seconds, shooting up a school, every bloody WEEK.

IMHO the US constitution should be ripped up and rewritten bearing in mind all present day problems, that grip America, but sadly I fear that may not even work. I couldn't imagine a present day congress rewriting a 400 year old document that took only a handful of men a few days to write.

It's going to take a woman on PMS with dictatorial powers to change anything. Go Hillary, go.

Cheers
Tony

Along with the framers of this great country, I believe that we are endowed by our Creator with certain rights. They don't come from man, Mother Earth, the Man in the Moon, or anywhere else. Religion has nothing to do with it. There are plenty of resources available to know that the framers were not making a God-less society. Among other things they were protecting the free exercise of religion (or not, if you so desire), acknowledging where our "self evident" rights come from, and limiting the power of the federal government. The First Amendment precludes the government from instituting a state religion, protects the free exercise OF religion, protects free speech (with no test attached for "being offended"), protects the press, and free assembly. The Second Amendment provides the teeth for ensuring the First. Accordingly, the PEOPLE are FIRST and at the TOP of the pinnacle, and the government is subservient and answerable to THEM, not the other way around. Our government today, and specifically the Federal government, has that WAYYYY backwards, and those "outdated", "irrelevant" documents allow the "people" to throw the bums out, per se. I believe that the only thing keeping the "government" from completely running over the "people" IS the well-armed, freedom-loving part of the population. The minority of cowardly crazies who seem to search out gun-free zones to do their mischief can be dealt with........ by the vast majority of folks who DO respect other people's lives, liberties, and pursuits of happiness. The world has always had folks who never had or lost their respect for other people's lives. That minority needs to be dealt with, not the majority of life-respecting people.
The debates, the speeches, and the documents that formed this great country of ours are unique on this earth, and are still relevant today. There are LOTS of things that our founders would have NEVER imagined would be going on, but that does not mean there's a problem with the documents. Human nature is human nature, and there is nothing new under the sun.

For me, we live in the greatest country on earth, even with it's imperfections. Airplanes, ships, cars, and buses can take you ( and I don't mean "you" personally) anywhere you'd like to go that you might think is a better place to be. Way more people are wanting IN than OUT, from what I can tell.

Anyway, that's a small part of my "opinion", I am entitled to it, and I respect your right to express yours.

(And, by the way...... you have a fantastic looking Classic motor home. Thank you for the beautiful pictures, and enjoy your travels!!)

What the h#&*????

How did a trip to Yosemite get turned into this??

Can anyone cite a better example of a thread gone awry???

For crying out loud, this is an AIRSTREAM forum.

Can't a guy just enjoy his vacation and share it with us??

Some of you need to lock yourselves in the bathroom, and run your mouths until you fall asleep. Sorry you didn't get enough attention when you were a kid.

I have enjoyed reading about your AS & travels but you have got to share what all your I-pad monitors? What a system!

We are making our first trip to the Grand Tetons & Yellowstone next year. Am trying to figure out how to squeeze in Yosemite.. Have a great time!

PaulnGina, since the First Amendment DOES NOT actually grant you the right to free speech on my thread nor anywhere else on this forum, I will politely ask you to refrain from posting here.

Since my partner and I are really enjoying ourselves in Yosemite and I have limited internet access and since I desire not to, I will not engage you or others in a Constitutional or religious debate.

As a 57 year old Gay man in American that has been subjected to this country's religious persecution my entire life, please don't think for one minute that you understand the Constitution better then I.

Thank you for your very kind words about my Airstream! Happy trails my friend.

Ok, ok...

I must apologize...

That image on my iPad is not real. It's a photo from a "glass cockpit" system for airplanes.

However I would love to have such for real. With a modern coach all is available now but of course as we all know there really is nothing for us.

I did find a company at one time that did make all the sensors, and interface for them, a control unit and monitor that would give me all the readouts electronically...only if I were a rich man!

I mounted the iPad as a test to display Google Maps as I drive down the highway. I'm using a stand alone cellular device for connectivity. However, it didn't work. The iPad was not able to determine the coach's correct gps location. The app does work well on the iPhone as we travel down the highway.
