Dean, I was really tired when I typed that! For some reason I was thinking you were saying you were born in 1957.

We're close in age, I got you beat by a year

Glad to see you're enjoying your trip!

Glamping in Yosemite is all it's made out to be and more! It was site moving day. It's difficult to get reservations in one site for a week! This is our good dinner night and so we have some good wine to accompany it!

We were in Red Bluff, 45 minutes from the ranch, getting Starbucks and a highway patrol officer came out of Starbucks and pulled up behind me. Turns out he owns a 1959 16 foot Airstream trailer, polished and in original condition that he will eventually tow with his 1959 Chevy pickup that was his very first car. He was excited to see an Airstream motor home. A tour ensued. Good thing that smoke smell inside was only campfire smoke!!!

Well the trip was a success. We are back at the ranch. It was about an 8 hr trip today. The motor home performed flawlessly!

We will spend the night here in the motorhome and then make the 250 miles trip south to home tomorrow!

Dean,

Great pics. I forget how magnificent the Ahwahnee really is; such a time capsule of an "older" America, and reflective of the greatness of our national parks. I doubt such things will ever be built again; kind of like Classic Airstreams I suppose.

Your travels provide a constant reminder of what we should all be doing with our coaches.

Thanks.

Thanks!

While at the Ahwahnee, I read a handout that said it was built for 1.2 million dollars and that was way over budget! It also stated that the walkway alone was rebuilt in recent times for a mere $500,000. I think you are right, such things will never be built again!

Yes, get out there and use your coaches! After giving a tour of the MH to a very enthusiastic camp host at Yosemite, he stated that he tells everyone he knows that has an RV..."wear them out, that's what they are made for"!

Thanks Dave and Felicia.

Some day I'll have that system up and running!

I do think my center console ipad mount is a better idea then the steering wheel ipad mount I got a couple years back! (wink wink).

Hey Mike,

Well I didn't get out the Go-Pros this time even though I did bring them along. I did shoot video on the camcorder, but probably won't do a time lapse with it thought.

I really want to do the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone myself! Just a word of caution for Yosemite...reservations are required except for the dead of winter. Even now in October the campgrounds in the valley are booked solid. Reservations are done in time blocks months ahead and they get taken up within minutes. We usually go in April and Nov, because it is easier to get a reservation. And, you DO want to stay in the valley at one of the campgrounds!

I have enjoyed reading about your AS & travels but you have got to share what all your I-pad monitors? What a system!

We are making our first trip to the Grand Tetons & Yellowstone next year. Am trying to figure out how to squeeze in Yosemite.. Have a great time!
