Coolant overflow tank for a 345

Hey folks, we have learned our overflow tank is broken and that InlandRV doesn’t have it.

The mechanic ordered one from somewhere and got something half the necessary size.

Do you know where we can find the right size? Is anyone parting a unit out who has one? Or is this a standard item and we’re looking in all the wrong places?

Thanks for any thoughts. :-)

I replaced mine with a generic tank from a local parts store.
It was about the same size as the original. I had to use the
wire frame basket that came with it because the new tank
would not fit in the old basket. Less than $20.

Geez. Really? Wow. I’ll tell them.

Thanks!

For any item like the overflow tank, that is fairly generic and not specific to "Airstream", you'll save lots and lots of money if you can source it from a local parts store. The markup by Airstream can be insane.

I agree, especially since we have evidence that a generic tank has worked for Air345fly. I’ve passed this along to the mechanic and they were grateful for the info. I’m just waiting to hear what they’ve been able to work out, thanks.

Great! Thanks! Did you take this rig to Burning Man a while back? We did too on two occasions. I think the second was the last time!

I had to replace the over flow tank on the 'Silver Bullet'. The old one got too cracked to keep fixing with PVC cement and fiberglass cloth. The one from the parts store works good.

Yes, we've been to Burning Man three years in a row with the MH. I think the last time was five years ago now! Would like to go again...just too much work to prepare for and too much work to clean up afterwards! Next time we will hire a "personal assistant" to do all that work for us! Ha Ha!

Boy do I hear you. We decided the dust was too much for us.

Just to report, we did end up installing an overflow tank without the sensor, so our dash always says low water, or whatever the thing actually says. So far, no problems!
