Classic Motorhome Picture thread!
Well, I searched and didnt find one...
So I think its time we had one!
I have been struggling to figure stuff that is missing or modded or just plain wrong on my 345, and I have spent ages searching or waiting for answers.
It's usefull as a reference, and lets face it.... Just plain show off!
I think we all need to see what was stock/factory, and what mods have been done over the years, good or bad.
Here is a list of what I think would be great to see, but its pretty comprehensive, so bit by bit!
Exterior:
Fronts, Sides, Rears, and Roof and Compartments.
Color schemes, mouldings, and polish jobs! Also wheels and tires. On the roof, A/C units, Antennas, Solar installations. Damage and/or repairs done. Views into exterior compartments, battery and storage.
Views into engine compartment from exterior and doghouse too.
Maybe underside shots of tanks, valves, tow hitches, cable and pipe runs, and drivetrain, would be great if you have any!
Interior shots:
Floorplans, seat and trim materials and colors and curtains. Wood finish, countertops, carpets, and floor materials.
Driving zone, including Instrument panels, switches, radio/CB, and level Control.
Compartments, and cupboards: Layout, shelves and dividers. Fuse block locations and master control panels. Lighting, fans, and their switches. TV's, stereo, and entertainment centers.
Kitchen zone, refridgerators, stoves, basins, microwaves, Nutone and faucets.
That should cover most of it, so just tell us what Model and Year so we can see whats what!

Well,
A lot of that stuff IS in the forums, but you have to access it correctly...I'm still finding threads by typing in what I thought were innocuous wordings...but, there was the thread!!! Others will reply to this thread with correct direction...I just saw your quest and respected it...

Well, I didnt post mine because as those of you that have seen my 345 know its not the best example(damaged) and has been messed with a little more than others..
I guess I was hoping that those of you with really nice unmolested example would put up pics as a reference and example.
I agree with you Scap, a lot of it is here if you search, but as the owner of many "Older Vehicles" and a member and active user of the forums that support them, it usually a "Sticky Thread". I have found some things by searching, frustrating and time consuming to wade thru pages looking for something that a picture will tell me in 1 sec!
I think for those people looking or thinking about buying a Classic Motorhome, we should give a brief description, and any/some history. For those of us who have one already, it great to see what others have, and how it looks or should look... in in my case how it should NOT look!
But I guess I need to lead by example really!
So, here we go!
He is my 1984 Airstream 345LE.
I bought in April 2010 in Kansas from a nice couple who loved it, but realized it was too big for what the needed. I flew in, and after a day inspecting and driving it, we replaced 2 tires(8 years old, but looked fine), and drove it 1500 miles home to California without any real problems. We averaged about 8mpg.
I think I am the 4th owner, and I believe it was originally a Florida Motorhome.
I did have pretty detailed pictures of the issues and damage before I completed the deal, and am pretty happy with the price I paid. I was looking for something I could drive and enjoy, and the cosmetics I could work on over time.
Chassis has approx 75,000 miles, speedometer is a replacement, but I have a ton of documentation, and bills, so that stacks up. Motor is a JASPER remanufactured and not has about 8,000 miles on it and runs very strong. Transmission was rebuilt at the same time. Front suspension and brakes were done also... the bill for that period was over $15,000 alone.
Genset is a Kholer 7000, and shows 82 hours use.
Pro's: Fresh motor, and transmission. Suspension and tires good, and strong brakes. Drivers side is almost perfect. Good amount of documentation, no rust, clean and fresh smelling interior. Drives great.
Con's: Damage to passenger side, and rear wrap panels. Rear banana wraps damaged, rear bumper broken. Front bumper tweaked and missing rubber over riders, and front wraps cracked and missing pieces. Oil leak from Genset.
Most of the Exterior pics are from the PO, and how I bought it.. It looks better now!

Shower works great now, but it did have a split pipe due to not being winterised.
I cant find a picture of the bathroom for now...
Main control/display panel seems to work, all except the freshwater tank level(see comment about FW tank in previous post), but I think there should be a clock.
A/C units work well, as do both furnaces, but motor A/C needs a recharge, and the AUX heater under the couch is not working(coolant bypassed at the engine).
A&E levelers are fitted and work good, but I have one warning lamp that is red for some reason.
So, thats most of it covered!
NEXT!

Thanks Massey.
My 345 has a long way to go, but the good news was that I pretty much knew what was wrong with it, and upon research, felt I had "headroom" to fix the issues.
My biggest challenge has been to figure out what is missing or wrong... and I needed a visual reference.
Thats why the thread is needed.

MH pictures
Hi all,
Please forgive me for not posting pictures here directly, but I already have several interior and exterior pictures posted on my website at Classic Airstream Motorhome.
I have a 1989 345 LE with very few modifications. Both furnaces have been replaced. The refrigerator has also been replaced. I replaced the 12V with an intellipower unit. I also removed the electric "air" horns because they were not functioning and I like the cleaner look of the roofline. My rear A/C was replaced with a newer unit and the TV antenna was upgraded. The interior is completely unmolested. No previous owners (of which there were three) installed any hooks, screws, shelves, etc. It's not perfect, but we love it.

Nice Mike!
Guess I need to add Organpipe NM to my list!
Oh, anyone care to post a pic of the flip-up Vanity in the bedroom of 345's?
I assume mine is missing the wirror adn the lights based on the wires hanging loose and the screw holes.. So it would be great to see what it should look like!
Few more pics of mine I found..
Here is the 110V main breaker box, between bathroom and bedroom on drivers side.
And the 12V fusebox and onboard vacuum under the kitchen..
And a Picture of me and my 345, on Route 66 at Goff's CA, on the maiden voyage back from KS..
