Front and rear roof end caps have cracks, that are drilled to stop them spreading. Hot water heater is new, but original 80G freshwater tank was replaced with a 15G...
Bedroom is North/south queen.

Based on what I am seeing, I would surmise this is a factory ordered floor plan change. The Dinette positioning was something that was available at one time in the 270 model coaches, The end wall of the seatback is OEM. The Formica in the the wall cabinets looks to be the OEM Formica, and the fact that the exterior where the cabinet currently is does not have any windows (they would have installed windows if the dinette was installed there) leads me to this conclusion.
There are bits and peices of OEM woodwork mixed into what looks to be modifications. The paper towel holder looks like one that was standard issue... The woodwork on the end panel of the 3 door closet looks like either factory work or the materials were bought at the factory. But the color match is perfect from what I can tell, and the install is the way the factory would have done it....
Looks like you have a good solid unit on your hands with some intriguing interior features!

Thanks for the input Brett!
I have crawled all over the unit now, and was sure it was ordered from the factory this way, as you say too. The wood matches, tho I think it may have been refinished sometime in places. As you say, the lack of windows in that area is the dead giveaway!
More Aluminum to polish!
I am in no hurry to change much in the interior, but in the short term, would like more seating options, and maybe some seatbelts in the Dinette, so people can sit there while traveling. Longer term I was thinking about replacing the large closet with a U shaped sofa with a removable table top. I was thinking a couple of those slim "Vista" windows up higher would be fun too! But that way in the future.

Oh, I spotted something I had not noticed the other day....
If I am not mistaken there is 2 different front panels/banana wraps on Classics.
A short version, like on mine, with no skirt and no chin spoiler:
And a deeper version, like this one on a 345 in the same storage as mine(Hope its ok to post this, as its not mine!):

When I got my coach it had a bent bumper and a crunched l/f banana wrap. I ordered a replacement from Inland RV and it had the lower chin. It took a bit of cutting and grinding and is not really a perfect match but if you get down on your knees to find the difference you are just trying too hard. Nobody looking at the coach has noticed it or if they did they were kind enough not to say anything.
Cheers, Dan

Thank you kindly for taking to time to reply..
I may give them a tinkle to see how much they charge to ship to England
I bought 2 black plasticky office type cheapos from Ikea
but they don't look the part ..and..it's easier going in than out ..
once I squeeze myself in between said swiverley chair and pointy edged table i'm well and truly stuck
so the idea is to scupper the existing and replace with 2 cosies

TC,
You might try an outfit called discounttruckandrv.com. I had a couple of captain's chairs custom made by them for my Classic 325 moho. They were WAY less expensive than Flexsteel. In fact, their prices were soooo much lower, that I was almost reluctant to purchase from them. They are a relatively small family run business in Southern California, and they were a pleasure to deal with. They make everything in their own shop, have a number of styles to choose from, and turn out a great product. Cheers.

Thanks Octane,
You are correct. I got that one ass backwards. discountvantruck.com it is!!!
They say that the memory is the second thing to go..... Fortunately, I can say that in this case, my fuel pump went first. But the seats are still great.

Or anywhere in Europe!

Dearest Keyair
Your kind comments winged their way straight to my heart.
You are so right, there are very few indeed, and we think ourselves fortunate
so many are comfortable with us taking away one of your National Treasures.
I love the very sight of it, it cheers me no end, it inspires me
to live my life to the full, and the very showing of it in England gives pleasure to those who are sadly not in a position to own such a beauty themselves. Indeed, if we hadn't ventured across we would have been in their ranks.I dont stray away from the thread much, my friends are there and as I have had knocks in the past with losing our business, and all the nonsense that went with it, I am not strong enough to soak up any negative remarks which could very well happen on a Forums with so many members.
I would however, understand as..You may see yourself, the press are guilty of so much negativity in England.I am one who is prepared to stand up and be counted as one who swims against the flow and will not join that band of followers.
I have nearly reached my 60th year and we are thinking of
and will do my very best to share it with you.To The kind Forum owners and their staff our home is yours and for whose who wish it, long may we remain friends. To those who are not sold on the idea, I am so sorry to offend. Please try to think of us in a kind hearted fashion..we are truly a decent family..
I'm off now, we are about to have a late Tea and watch a film, it is 8 ish here dark and very very very cold. Hx2 and yours truly walked around the lake and I swear I could not see so much as a hand in front of me half way round ..it was perishing. in fact it was so cold Hx2 wore my fluffy headskarf. We are most cosy and warm, we keep the heat on full belt since I had a douse of the flu
Bless you all, your beautiful Country, the welcome my precious family received from all insundry on our trip to the USA,which will stay with me so long as I shall live.
The welcome ..
Meeting Dan at Casini

You may have missed that I am a Englishman, transported to "The Land of the Free" via work and decided to stay. I am now a resident for 10 years, and would live in no other land, despite my roots!
I am still confused by some things... like what they call "Football" being played 99% while holding and throwing the ball with your hands, and how to spell things the right way.....
I enjoy my trips to England, to visit family, but strangely, they come to see me more often than not, so I have little reason to return. I suspect I will have more visitors once my "Aluminium" wonder is fully functional, and indeed there are plans afoot for a family trip to Yellowstone in 2012, with a about 10 of us split between the 345 and a rental RV.

sorry about the delay-- Thise are the original seats recovered in fake leather. The guy here in Atlanta did a fantastic job, and they matched the material on other spots in there.
My 280 is now in England by the way...

Hey Keyair.
Must be something about classic Airstream motorhomes and the British. I relocated to the States from the UK in 2000, haven't been back since. Guess you know what they say about absence making the heart grow fonder
Tincrumpet.
I spent my childhood living in Hempshill Vale. Will always remember the fun had sledging at Wollaton Park Can only imagine the cheer you get driving around Nottingham in one of these tin cans.

I was born in England but when I was 3 years old, my Dad stole a loaf of bread and we were sent to the penal
Colony in Australia.
Then in 2000 I moved to the US.
