It is indeed. Still considering both.
This is a picture on our family get together a Northern Exposure a few years ago.
Both have their pros. Not many cons.

Not sure which May weekend you're looking at, but I hope I'm in for this one. Think I got the bugs (almost)worked out of the engine/transmission swap. It's only 1044 mile from here to there.

Hope you can make it! Haven’t selected a date. Still thinking 4 days. What dates work best for everyone? I’d like to steer clear of Memorial Day.
Morel mushroom hunting is real big in early May at Northern Exposure (Mesic Mi) with 1000s of acres of state and federal forrest. The lake is beautiful. We’ve done well with catfish and walleye fishing. The Manistee river creates the lake Lake with rafting and canoeing.
Northern Exposure would be a nice site for get together.
Ludington State Park is beautiful with the Lake Michigan beach, Hamlin Lake, and the dunes. But I’m caving a hard time putting together contiguous sites as they are a hodgepodge of sizes and accessibility to motorhomes. It was laid out many years ago for 1950s era camping. We would be pretty spread out.
Again, let me know what dates work.
Dave...

Think Cooperstown and keep us all together, at least within walking distance. Regards, Bob

I’m going to reserve 191-200. Date isn’t set yet. Any preferences.
Thinking Sunday night through Wednesday night. That gives us the weekend for travel and we should have the campground to ourselves.
Unless someone wants to put the weekend in the middle.
The drive to Mesic is very pleasant. Good roads and not much traffic. Not much hill climbing.
Memorial weekend will probably be busy but probably doable. I’d prefer the middle of the month.

The Northern Exposure site looks like it might be a better location for the get together purposes. We totally agree with trying to make it a 3-4 day event, especially for those that are traveling a good distance to get there. Middle of the week is always better for us when the campground isn't so crowded. (but we're retired so our commitments are different than those still working). We really don't have preference on dates but if we can make it easier for Tony and John to attend due to national holidays I think we should try and do that.
Sure looks like a beautiful area and Lynn nor I have ever been up that way, so it will be a great new adventure for us.
Mike

We are seriously considering making the trip, pending getting the 350 to Austin and then a trip to Florida and back. Always wanted to visit MI and Mushroom season would just be an extra welcomed bonus.
We would have to be back in Austin the weekend of May 27/28, but please don't let that be a factor in your decision. Sure would enjoy meeting all you guys and gals (and your trusted rigs) in person. And yes, I agree with Mike on the dates to get John and his sidekick Tony to show up.

If you plan this for memorial weekend there will be lots of traffic. The road to Mesick is the same road that goes to tourista Traverse city.
Would a non motor home owning Airstream lover be welcome to visit? I'm only 20 minutes from Northern Exposure.

I’d like to keep the motorhomes together on the far west end but as far as I’m concerned you are more than welcome to join us.

I'm a sidekick?
Definition of sidekick: a person's assistant or close associate, esp. one who has less authority than that person.
Since John's and my strengths are dissimilar but yet complementary, I'd prefer to be called a compadre.
BTW, no offence taken, as I know the sprit with which the quote was given.
Cheers
Tony

I guess my concern would be just how JOHN feels about that!! hehehe
(and by the way, under the definition presented, I am definitely LYNN's sidekick!
Totally ok with that!)

I thought the definition of "accomplice" is the UBER driver that decides to pick up the two guys outside a bank wearing balaclavas and carrying long stem rose boxes......."I didn't know officer; they were just a fare"
Cheers
Tony

Well, better be a sidekick than get a sidekick. I just got a real good "sidekick", right in the groin. Went to see the 350LE in Phoenix and all I can say is OMG, what in the world are they thinking. Drive into the sunset with all three fuel tank straps missing???to only mention the minor stuff...Unbelievable. So deal is off, unless Bob sells me his 370, I can not attend.

Will they sell the couch ??? By the way remember my 325LE goes up for sale in June....follow the thread "It's Never Done" for detailed pictures of the rebuild. Same thing happened to me me on the 325LE....bought it sight unseen.....drove to Chicago to pick it up....left it there and drove home....They made good on it and delivered it to me 3 months later and then then rebuild happened.....Regards, Bob
