So, at the last minute, buttoned up the 310, convinced the wife to play hooky and off to Pennwood we went. Stayed the night in Niagara Falls, so we could pick up a new 12 volt fresh water pump I had ordered. Great weather Friday as we took 219 down to route 66; beautiful drive. Weather turned south on us Saturday, with intermittent showers and cloud. Rain moved in Saturday night heavily, so packed up this morning wet, but managed to get home by 6pm to a beautiful sunny evening, so out came the awning to dry off.

Thanks Bob for having us, and to all those who made the effort to attend this spring. Hopefully more will come out this fall.

Cheers
Sidekick Tony

PS Thanks to the volunteers at Pennwood, who put on a fantastic soup, salad and dessert dinner for $5 bucks.

I finally got a minute to sit down and get my thoughts together. Thanks to those who came to the “Get-Together” including Lance and Rita who made the trip from Ohio in their Suburban. Well one thing is for sure.....it was the intimate “LEAK TEST” especially Sunday afternoon ! Thanks to Pennwood for having us as always....it’s such a nice park and not having cell service is not such a bad thing.....it’s nice to be disconnected now and then. There appears to be some interest in a fall gathering for Cooperstown, so I will go ahead and see what weekends are open while I am there over the 4th of July weekend. I’m thinking 3rd or 4th weekend in September. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

Of course, Martin, your site has been reserved. It is #6, if you let me know in early fall. But, we sure don't want to put any pressure on Brad, he already has his hands full with leaking windows and Tommy's dental appoinments..

The dental appointments aren't so bad. All I do is watch (and grimace!).

Thanks Peter, now we just need a plan of how we can make it!

Lives crazy at the moment....just back from 3 days in Japan, leave for Philly on Monday, Scotland/Belgium the week after, then another week in Scotland and back to Japan. So much for being retired!

It’s time to start thinking about a fall “Get-Together”. Hartwick Highlands in Cooperstown is available for the weekend of September 27. I have put the wooded sites on hold for us but I need to know as soon as you can. For those that have been there you know there are not many, the overflow will be in the field. Regards, Bob

Checking to see if this fall get together is still on? I haven't seen anyone commit yet. It's a long way from Oklahoma but we would like to come and meet some folks, but didn't want to be the only one there! Still Sept 27, 28 weekend? Regards Dave

The “Get-Together” is still on for September, final count is Sunday (Labor Day Weekend) If there are not enough people coming 3-4, I will cancel due to lack of interest. Regards, Bob PS......I will probably go anyway.....just another chance to get away ! Regards, Bob

Bob, we will try to make it. We really need to get away from getting the estate in order. Past few years have been a challenge. Moving from Colorado, caring for my folks, loosing them, forced retirement... We hope to get back on the road frequently with the AS. We haven’t lost interest, just time.

Maybe it's just not a good time for everyone. Maybe the spring is better, I don't know. I would just like to be a part of a large gathering of these Classics. If that's not the end of Sept. this year, then we will wait and try to come to another one. I haven't found many in Oklahoma!!
