Awesome! BTW, if you happen to see "The Donald" you should suggest he use your 310 as Ground Force One. It would be a seriously cool thing to see a President in a Classic Airstream, especially one in as good a shape as yours.

Welcome to club.
Cheers

BCCade,

Welcome to Airforums! By all means post some pictures and tell us more about your 310.

Don't know if you watched this or not, but $100 is as far as this rig went. No bids at all. Let's face it, how do you sell this? Party bus? For something in great condition, it would take a huge amount to convert back into an RV.

I had seen it there before, I assume they sold it off of ebay and if nothing else it would be a good parts machine

I would pay $100 for the window locks. Can we buy it and part it out.

I think Brad can fill us in on what he had to go through to get rid of the skeleton. If I remember correctly, they would not take the chassis with the wood flooring in place.
Otherwise, i would have 2 of them in my backyard at all times

I was watching this item out of curiosity. The "no reserve" is bull hockey, for if they don't get what they want, they pull the listing early. A bunch of people bid (17 in fact (click on "0bid" to see how many) ); one even up to $7500.00 but all the bids were cancelled.

NEVER place a maximum bid for an online auction, especially if the auction house is the one taking the bidding as they will almost certainly shrill the bidding up to your maximum bid. Trust me, I know this kind of fraud is done all the time and seen it take place in an online auction my old workplace had on its machinery.

The house always wins!

Cheers
Tony

When I find a worthwhile item on ebay, I do an initial bid to see where the current high bid is at.
If it is reasonable value then I wait until the last 10 seconds of the auction to place my real bid.
This eliminates most people (and shill bidders) from bumping the bid and it keeps me from getting overly excited and bidding more than it is worth.

I had to pay $1300 to get rid of the donor carcass after removing the bits that we want.

Two scrap yards originally bid $1100, but walked away.

Nice fixer find there Waipo Rim.
Looks pretty straight and mostly complete on the exterior, quite nice interior. Well equipped with solar panels, awnings / window covers all around.

Somebody loved it once.

Could be worthwhile.

Cheers Richard

I would be extremely cautious. The description states this:
This is a 1992 Airstream motorhome that was purchased in Florida and shipped to California
As the brake lines and drive shaft was disconnect for transport....
Imagine what a tow from Florida to CA (if that what happened) did to the tag axle and the Airbag components..

There are times when I would have been willing to spend the $1300 that Martin had to spend to get rid of the carcass. Completely dismantling that 345 took a massive amount of effort and a 14' backhoe and I had to do all the work myself. If I hadn't had the backhoe I'd probably still be dealing with the remains.

Of course a rolling chassis is easier to get rid of but there are a lot of good salvageable parts that if removed render the chassis immobile.

Any of these pretty RVs actually got an engine in the back or was that only the Land Yacht XLs?

There are a few diesel pusher classics out there, '94 and '95. http://www.viewrvs.com/motorhome/air.../1994_36_c.php

I sent the seller a message asking three questions: 1) is it fuel injected, 2) does it have an overdrive transmission, and 3) was it towed from FL to CA, or transported off the ground. Got an answer back today, the seller did not know the answers to the first two questions but said that it was transported off the ground.

Hi Guys!

I'm back... a few weeks ago I listed my 20 for sale with no engine or transmission. Now that I'm on the road I can't decide which one to keep?? Thoughts?
The 20 has a modern fuel injected 454 and a 4l80e overdrive :-)
The 24 has a carb and a built 700r4
Both engines have been rebuilt and only have brake-in mileage I will admit the 20 has more power and there is no way to beat fuel injection cold starts etc.
