…. Back to reality. I know it's not a diesel, but this one could be the deal of the year (or the scam of the year ).

Maybe 01/01/2011 just means he hasn't set the timer since the battery on his camera went flat (although I doubt it!)

Well observed.
Definitely ask for up-to-date pictures before traveling. I once drove from home in Oregon 1150 miles to San Diego to see a car that was advertised using a picture showing it complete, and when I arrived and the seller opened the shop door, there was a stack of cardboard boxes and a rolling body shell stripped of all paint.... stripped of everything! I was so mad that I had to turn around and walk back to my truck without a word, or I might have killed the guy. I had another 1150 miles to reflect upon this, and came to the conclusion that I would be more careful in future.

I don't know anything about this MH directly, but I do see that there are leaves on the trees. So the photo was not taken on Jan 1.

Personally, I'd go for number 2.
Why? Well, she'll be the better cook for sure, she'll almost certainly have a nicer nature, I could afford her clothing, make-up, tanning booth and hairdresser bill a lot easier, I likely wouldn't be in jail for assault or manslaughter from finally losing it with one of the guys who are (not) constantly hitting on her, she'd be a lot better at pushing the car when it broke down, and we could always join Weight Watchers together and we might both be pleasantly surprised!

If any of you guys had this rig, in this shape with this engine, generator and all the work done to it; what would you be asking for it??? If it were me there'd be a "1" before that "7".
If it sound too good to be true .........be careful and don't send any cash or money without seeing the unit and title before hand. Don't fall for the old "you have to act quick as I have someone coming this afternoon".
If I'm wrong, someone is going to get a hellava deal of the century. I'd buy the bloody thing.
Cheers

McNeon is the seller and has been a member since 2003. I seriously doubt he would be a scammer of any sorts.

I can't believe the price either, but McNeon has posted many times describing the engine swap and fuel injection work, so I believe it is genuine.
I wish it was in worse condition, because it is worth the price just for the upgraded parts, but is way too nice to pull apart.
If someone doesn't snap it up it maybe I could justify getting it to swap the upgraded bits out with those from my donor, i.e. switch it back to standard, and keep the upgrades to go in Bella later.

Peter it wouldn't be the first time that a scammer has taken an ad or identification from a bonafide individual for nefarious means. The ad looks totally legit, the scammer ads do as well, except the prices often differ, with the scammer prices being 50% less than the original price. I have even seen Airstream ads that will list all work done to an item (scammer reads restore blogs/threads), creates ad with legitimate name but contact info is sent to the scammer. The original owner is often the first person getting a call from a friend stating "Why are you selling your rig?". The original owner then posts the scam on the site.
A good friend was taken for over $600 by a guy in NY that sounded completely on the level. The guy in NY answered every technical question and even offered to sweeten the deal with some extra bits and pieces for his Airstream. The price was an amazing deal my friend said to me, so amazing that it clouded his better judgement.
It can happen to anyone and happens to a lot more people than is reported. Airstreamers are especially vulnerable as parts are expensive, seniors are trusting of their fellow man and most prefer to dealing in cash, (even through the mail).
The scammer uses simple psychology to get your heart racing to complete or send cash for a deposit and in this day and age of instant money transfers by money loading cards you can get at the local grocery store, it's fast. Once the card is loaded and the card code is sent to the scammer, the money is gone.
If the seller is truly Mr McNeon, then I hope the new owner truly understands the effort and money that he has put into his Argosy; that it's a smoking deal and it finds a great home. Again I do apologize to Mr McNeon and did not wish to disparage his good name or reputation.
Cheers
Tony
