I'm sure we will be hearing from them soon.....look for the title "Can I fit a 360 Cat into a 360 pusher?".

Cheers

lol... I am installing my power pack on Diesel Donna as we speak. Takes more time, and less effort than I thought.

That 280 on E-bay sold for $26,000. That's kinda discouraging I have 20k in parts laying on the shop floor. If I spend 500 hours putting it all together it might be worth 26k ? Am I outta my mind?

He might have pulled it for other reasons. It would be well worth his money to put a rebuilt head on it and make it drivable. I have some Phoenix lay overs next month and was hoping to take a look at it. Probable saved my life that he pulled it. It would have been fatal to drag another project home.

Yup, you are .
Somewhere there is a disconnect, since purchase price plus improvements, maintenance and repairs plus time spent does not equal market value.
Can you say bad investment ??
The missing link seems to be the enjoyment of ownership...priceless

I think you're right, someone came to his senses and will fix it.

I can also relate to you dragging another project home and being fatal, as my "one who shall be obeyed" last wheel count put me almost to the century mark. Thank God she missed the wheels on the BBQ, although she was savvy enough to count spare tires.

Cheers

So...if anyone sees a 91 300 LE parked on the side of the road with a guy walking back 500 feet to a 96 diesel pusher parked on the side of the road heading home....you'll now know who it is.

At least we know it found a great home with an afficionado.

Cheers

Thanks Tony, hopefully you never see either one parked on the side of the road...perhaps a national park instead. The 94 is in fair shape inside and out, but needs some love. The motor is getting rebuilt and I'm having Kent's install a Banks kit on it while it's apart. I'll drive it back to CA and then decide if I want to keep it or my beloved 300LE.

Sebastian congratulations! Hope you keep the 300 LE too! If you ever drive east we'll have to meet up for a great photo. Jim

Did she count the wheels on your refrigerator? ''One who shall be obeyed'' Be careful...she might have read the book 50 shades of grey.

Good for you Seabas! I think this will turn out to be a worthwhile project for you.
Plus saves me from getting in over my head. Whew that was a close one!

I'm heading to Phoenix today for a couple of days. Let me know if I can be of help while there.

Is the engine shop going to dig into the bottom end of the engine? May be a good idea to drop the pan for a look see.

Glad this coach is staying in the family so we can follow along.

Cheers Richard

Thanks guys, we'll see how it works out after a total motor overhaul. Im really curious how it will drive compared to the P30 based mohos. Probably won't make it to the meet in CO, but how about a west coast meet?

A west coast meet would be great! Would there be any interest in a meet in Northern California around the Redding area?

I'm also curious how they compare. The Spartan is a solid commercial vehicle type of ride. The leaf springs front and rear are a bit harsh but it tracks well and doesn't wander. New Goodyears made a world of difference on the teeth and china rattling.

On the plus side it's been wheeling in the Rockies in places many wouldn't consider dragging a pop up.

Some day I'm going to convert the rear to Reyco Granning air ride.

Tradera, Thank-you , Thank-you, Thank you! Just got off the phone with Ginger and she has the refrigerator access door that I have been looking for 4 years. Sounds like she has lots of parts and they are in good condition. Notably, she has the entry door and the windshields if any one needs them.
