I thought about asking if he would sell me the motor and transmission until I went back to the original listing and saw the price of just the one tail light assembly. What does he think it's made of, Titanium and Platinum?

I'll ask him anyway but will steel myself for a good laugh.

Cheers
Tony

Tony, the way the auction for the tail light reads I believe it's for both. From the auction text "AIRSTREAM REAR TAILIGHT LEFT AND RIGHT ASSEMBLY. " Also there are pictures of both in the listing.

With shipping they are $200 which isn't bad for a pair of tail lights that are made of unobtainium.

With that in mind I went ahead and did the buy-it now. I did state in my note to the seller that if the auction wasn't for both then I wanted my money back. The seller does have 100% positive feedback so hopefully this purchase will turn out ok

The good news is I now have a pair of tail light assemblies from a 73 Airstream trailer for sale and a pair of tail light assemblies from a 74 Excella 500 trailer for sale. I should be able to recoup my money pretty quickly!

Brad

This 310 has come up on Craigslist a couple of times recently, first in the south and then in Phoenix, now both places. Advertised as having a Cummins 5.9 and Gear Vendors unit, photos show impressively clean mechanicals and a lot of custom diamond plate work:

My bad Brad. When I saw the listing it was early this morning and I could have sworn it only stated the left side in the header. I keep forgetting the price of Unobtanium.

He hasn't gotten back to me on the price for the motor but maybe just as well as I'm not too up on US states locations and could have sworn Utah was a lot closer to Ontario than it really is. Maybe I confused Utah and Illinois. Maybe Mayco will jump on the motor.

I wonder what he'll charge for the rims.

Cheers

I've been looking for the fixed portion of a passenger side sliding unit which is available to be harvested from this moho. I don't mean the sliding unit at the passenger seat itself, but rather the typical, two part unit in the salon area just behind it.

Mine is a 1989 whereas this is a 1983. Does anyone know for sure if these units are all the same through this range of model years, as they appear to be?

I believe the seller's name is Jerry, and I told him that I posted his auction on the forum, and that he should be prepared for some calls. (I guess the story is that this unit was T-boned on the right side, hard enough to pretty much separate the body from the frame?) He has been most responsive in replying to texts and calls as we go back and forth with measurements.

FYI, His asking price on the generator with 300+ hours is $1500.

Tony,

The seller did confirm the auction was for both light assemblies and he has already shipped them.

Streamquest,

To the best of my knowledge the windows are all the same from the Argosy thru to the end of the Classic series. The early Argosy (74-76?) had slightly different frames and used different latches but I believe the glass is the same throughout.

Probably the best thing to do would be to measure the height and width of the glass panes themselves. If those numbers are the same I'll bet your paycheck that they will work

I certainly wish someone could figure out how to mine Unobtanium as it would sure make things simpler and cheaper

Yep, there's only a 1400 mile gap between Salt Lake City and Chicago! But if it's crated and shipped that would certainly make things easier

I guess I was wrong but looking at this picture from his auction it sure looks like an Alcoa wheel.

The motor is sitting less than 1400 miles from where you're at

Im headed to Denver next month.....yeeeeeehawwwwww, nope, I should delete that post somehow. Timing is just bad. But I would like to know what he wants for it. I emailed him about a couple other things and struck out. Anyway, who needs another 6bd1, they run forever right? Right? Anybody?

Mike, you need that 6BD1, as name another vehicle donor out there??? An excavator maybe? Go get it, you know you want it. I would jump on it but the exchange rate would kill me.

Take a trailer and tell him if he tries to sell it to you for big bucks....Nobody else will want it.

I hate it when people store any vehicle over grass, not good.

Dean, you get a $100.00 premium on yours as I'm sure you don't park yours on grass........cause California has no grass.

Don't you feel better now?

Cheers
Tony

PS The ad states it sleeps eight Dean? Eight???......would the eight be Snow White and the seven dwarfs?.....Sorry, mental flash of a hot raven haired beauty doing eight dwarfs in Dean's bouncing Airstream.
