Looking for a 290 I just discovered that one:
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/rvs...178285050.html
But... does look strange as pictures from different units were taken, even just copied from other's pages, e.g. Fred's viewrvs
Is someone familiar with that unit?

Waipio Rim, thank you for sharing the new link. 1989 Airstream 290 LE RV with 89000 miles looks quite interesting to me but there are only few pictures. The picture with the odometer is showing 79k but the ad says 89k - strange. If I would sell something I would better look to the details. But maybe a typo as also on the year it says 1998 (no 290s after 1990!) where in the description 1989.
The cons which are listed are OK. Generator could be replaced, plastic bra and carpet as well and having no couch behind the driver seat is OK as I plan a dinette there. The only worry I have is the "Minor quarter panel damage" but will ask for more pictures to better understand.
Finally the price seems quite low: $13k.

The front banana wraps and chin spoiler (what they are calling the 'bra') are pretty much NLA, so budget for having a custom valence made.

Check my comment when someone asked for a selling price for a 345:
"Not knowing about the engine, the trans, the generator and major things like the brake system and the Air suspension, puts this 345 in 12-15k range. Now if you are willing to dig in, make it reliable and roadworthy and spent at least 10k, you may get a premium of 25k-30K. "
That 290 could be a good fit for what you are after

I quite like the look of the 290. I doubt it has the 4l80E, but as Martin says, if you spend 10k, you could have a nice vehicle. Have a look if there is someone on the fourm who lives locally and can do an informal assessment for you.

I think the 290 has a 'water in fuel' light, which appeared to be illuminated....

Hi, doing some search in the forum, the "Water In Fuel" light comes on for no reason and seems to be a mystery.

Yep, those lights have a mind of their own and when you least expect it the light will come on.

If you're in need of a replacement Keeler door latch assembly this one on ebay is the cheapest I've seen in years.

A very fine 1990 345 specimen for sale in Austin. It used to belong to a long time forum member dating back to 2002 (Williamhenshall) He put vast amounts of money and upgrades into this 345 (GV overdrive, banks etc etc) David, in Austin bought it from William and drove it Austin and put very little miles on it since. He took very good care of it during his ownership. The body is in excellent !!! condition (normal clear coat /paint fading), it may need some pinstriping and plastic inserts, but all the wraps are perfect. The interior has the original leather in almost perfect condition. Windshields and all the glass is perfect. Steering is tight and frame has very little rust
If I would not have the 350 currently, I would buy it immediately.
It does need new tires and a new fridge. Onan with 1100 hours needs some tweaking. The rear furnace was taking out. Slight crack on the tag axle mount, which may need a small weld support.

more pictures from William from 2002 (still looks the same)

Thanks for posting Peter! I’ll take credit for getting Wilks into Airstreams back in the day. I shared this with him last night and he immediately called and bought it back

Yes, David called me this morning and told me. Quite amazing if you ask me! I inspected it for someone and he agreed to buy it and then backed out for reasons unknown. His loss! Glad William gets to take it over again and make it grand. In case he does not see these posts, have him contact me about the Tag axle issue and any other assistance he may need if he comes to Austin to pick it up.

310 in Yahima
I just recived this listing from another forum. I'm wondering about that engine, not original is it? Anyone now about the engine?
Looks like it needs some catching up on maintiance.

In looking thru the photos of the rig, it looks like the interior is still in place.
I wonder about the awning on the curb side. The body does look intact.
Id like wonder about that engine, anyone here remimber there era of that engine? And what power it may have had.
Cheers Richard

It's 160 hp with 400 lbs. ft. of torque with an almost unlimited ability to increase power. I can't think of a more desirable engine in that rig. I wonder what trans it has.
If I didn't have the 345, I'd be looking seriously at that coach.

Still looking for my favorite 290 or 300 AS I found a nice looking 345 with Coca Cola theme - is it "America's real choice"?
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...198006031.html
If somebody sees a 1985-1993 290 or 300, please let me know.
Thanks,
Mario
