Classic MH gray window channel

hey all,
I got a guy here who can make our broken gray window channel inserts. He's making me a couple of prototypes. I'll have them in a couple of weeks. Then I will test them out, tweet them if nessesary . I'll keep y'all informed. Don't know the price yet. I think what I'm going to do, if it works out, is have anyone interested in a bunch, just call him up for a price. If I have to order, say 1000 pieces, well then, well have to talk price. I don't really want to get in the middle. But he is a plastic job shop, quite presion work done there. So I'll let y'all know.

My motorhome has none of these; windows do not function properly. Can someone post detailed photos of an origina, even in place? so I can judge how badly I need these and can see what I might be buying. realistically I can attach a price tag what I'm willing to pay in my mind at least.

Window channel

theres a guy who posted the removal of his windows, and the gray channel. If you don't have this channel top and bottom, your windows will hardly move. Plus, the screen will fall out of the frame. My channels are junk. I have no idea the price, but he is a small shop, so overhead and big production numbers is not what he does. I've seen some of his work. He'll have no problem doing this. We're going to redesign the channel a little. Mostly for strength. I'll get some pictures of old and new when he gets back to me. He had a channel there in his shop that was almost what I needed. A little to wide, but close . I'll keep y'all posted. DJ

I have all the stuff to do the windows next year, having already taken out those bloody small screws and replaced them with SS screws. I have the mouldings and tracks, so buying those inserts if the price is right is a no brainer; count me in for 6 large windows and 1 small window. The small windows take the same size insert?

Cheers

As far as I know there are two per window. One up, one down.

No I haven't heard from him. I'll give him a shout today, and see where we are at. Small shop. One man operation. Low overhead better price. Done on his timeframe... Oh well. DJ

Gray window channel. Picture. Is this the stuff?

Refer to the attached photo.
If this is the stuff you're talking about please count me in.
I want to do all of the windows in a 345LE which amounts to over 40 feet.
Thanks a bunch.

Gray sliding window track/channel for classic motorhome.

Hi everyone.
My name is Jerry and I'm new to this forum and joined just for the purpose of joining this conversation. A few months ago I took on this 345LE project for my uncle and without considering that it might not be available tore out all of the deteriorated channel out of the sliding windows. Now I'm in a real bind.
I have high hopes that DJs guy can produce this stuff but need to work on a plan "B" in case it doesn't happen. I have approached a couple of different extrusion companies here in the Denver area and it can be done but the tooling and minimum run costs are outrageously expensive.
Does anyone know who or where produced the original window channel?
If we could get our hands on the dies it would be a huge savings.
I've tried talking to Airstream and they put zero effort into trying to help.
If anyone has any suggestions or input on how to further this project I would love to hear it.
Thanks for your time.
Jerry

Hi guys
Well, I talked to my guy yesterday. He's starting on them . I'll give him a shout on Monday. I m pretty confident, I ve seen his shop, his work, and he is capable of this.
Jerry, I looked into having a mold made . 1800.00 minimum . And that was from a guy who knows someone. I got another shop here that could do it. They are much bigger. They do a LOT of plastic . Custom stuff all the time. So I m pretty confident we lol land a mfger that can do it .
I lol keep y'all posted. DJ
