I am in the need of at least one track right now. I am replacing the glass in a bathroom slider using plexiglass on my 1989 345.
I sure could use the tracks and the fuzzy channel. Where to purchase??

Hey,
I'll call my guy tomorrow, and get an update.
The fuzzy channel, I think I went through vintage airstream. Remember to punch holes where the vents are.
Sugestion, use lexicon for the window plexiglas is softer and scratches easier. You may want to check with a plastic mfger, and see if there is anything better . Plexiglass also yellows fairly quickly if my memory serves me correctly. Doesn't one of our airstream supplers have that glass.
RV solutions, where I'm getting my windsheilds from, claims they can make custom glass. Maybe they lol have something for you. Just a thought. DJ

Hello airstreamsupply has complete window assemblies (kind of pricey)and some misc glass panels if that helps. Davejay you able to get a hold of your guy to see how hes making out on the window channels?Have a good day.

Hey,
I talked to him Monday,and he's working on them. Having trouble with that center little V rise in the channel . The upsidedown v is to keep the window edges running true, and separated from each other. We're dabbling with the idea of making it like a little step up wall. As wide as the v, maybe a little taller, but the affect should be the same. Holding the windows apart so they don't touch, the fuzz does its job and looks correct,as well as working correctly. Hey,
Well, I talked to my guy. He's having a little trouble with the lip of the channel that goes over the center aluminum part of the window frame. To my way of thinking, this little lip is not nessessary, if the bottom of the channel has a solid base. The design of the one channel is really poor. All the weight of the window is on the channel, and the center of the window, has a sharpe edge. So when you open the window, pressure is put on the little lip of the channel. Thus they crack in the middle of the channel right up by lip.
Our design change will eliminate the lip, retain the upsidedown V in the center of the channel , and fill in the bottom of the channel to where the weight and pressure of Open/closing the window will be on the base of the channel. And we re making the sides a little thicker. The screen and the window will stay where they were designed to be. They'll be separated as designed, so the fuzz does its job, and it'll look like it was stock. I'll keep y'all posted. DJ

Hey,
I talked to him yesterday. He's got a new machine, that as we were speaking, was getting wired for power. He was having trouble with holding the material down on the table. He couldn't hold the tolerances. This new machine is like a huge computer driven router. The material is held to the table via vacum. I got another shop up here that does the same type of work, only on a mass scale.hes got that same type of machine. Very cool. He can take a 4x8 sheet of whatever and rout it out, to where it looks like the product was extruded. If I have to go to this shop. I'd have to commit to a huge run, to make it worth they're time. My guy has the same capabilities, on a smaller scale. He's a one man operation, so his time schedule is longer. I'll keep hall posted. DJ

Commit to the huge run as you'll sell a bunch to guys on this site, then sell the rest to Airstream Supply, Out of Doors mart, Vintage trailer supply and Inland RV.

Trust me, they will sell, and people will buy, at a reasonable price point.

I'll take 12 myself.

If I'm not mistaken there are two pieces per window. All the slider windows are the same width so you just need a window count times two.

Come to think about it I'll have to jazz my order up to 20? 7 windows on the Classic, 3 on the Argosy.

Question, the smaller slider on my 310 where the kitchen is takes the same length channel? Just checking.
