center stereo console

im about to design and build a console to sit on top of the front part of the motor cover. it will be for all the usual stuff including the cab radio/cd/ipod holder, cup holders, some general storage, tom tom, etc. do any of you have some pics of what you have done for this and willing to share here. id like to look at others ideas before i start designing mine. so if you are particularly proud of what you have installed in your rig please post some pics. thanks folks. it will be fun to see what ya'll have done, i have a blank canvas at the moment.

One thing to consider. Its pretty hard to reach if you are driving. The little remote helps. Its a long reach from the passengers seat. Moving the glove box to the center and mounting entertainment/navigation electronics so they are in front of the passengers (navigators) seat might make sense.

This is what I did 12 years ago to my Airstream Entertainment center of my old '79 that originally came with an 8-track player. I used a fairly thick aluminum panel (`1/8"), sanded it with an orbital sanded to get fine swirls and clear coated it.
