Brake Upgrades

Anyone ever upgraded the brakes on their rig? I’m in the process of swapping in a modified 8.1L vortec and wondering if there’s a way to upgrade my stopping ability as well? Dual piston calipers? Larger rotors? Everything I’ve seen is for smaller/thinner rotor setups - not much for 1.54” rotors as far as I can tell.

3-4 years ago I did a bit of research on upgrading the disc brakes on '82 310. Sorry to say that I got nowhere real fast, couldn't find anything at all in regards to caliper or rotor upgrades.
I'll keep an eye on your thread here. But there are numerous threads here on the forum regarding the finicky brakes on our P30s and I haven't seen or heard of anyone finding upgrades to the OEM system. Good luck though, hope you find a direction to pursue.

This was the best I could find for the front. Also new rotors on the rear, and all new pads. Definitely makes a difference. Click image for larger version

Those look pretty good - specs say about 1” oversized diameter from stock? Any problems fitting inside the stock wheel rim once the caliper is installed?

They are the same size as the ones I replaced. No problems with fitment.
