Battery Isolators

There was a short discussion in Magnet's thread about the battery Isolator. I don't have one in my vehicle, anymore. It was removed by one of the previous owners and replaced with a marine battery switch. It works well enough but I am not sure it prevents you from draining your engine battery while boondocking.

Just wondering who has these units still in their Classics and is it a Diode or MOSFET version?

PS.. how do you rotate pictures on the forums. Its not like this in my photo library.. here its turned 90 degrees left.

Had a diode isolator, it drew heavy load on the alternator which caused belt failure.

Tried mosfet isolator which helped correct alternator voltage regulator, but did not limit load on the alternator

Finally to DC/DC charger and very happy with its performance and configure-ability
