We are looking into going to the Stone Mountain rally in April to start the season off. Hopefully the moho will be ready to camp.....

Rally date....

I was initially looking at August, but the temps and weather look better in May: TCPC Online - WELCOME

Was thinking about the week-end of the 11th or 17th..... in May. Thoughts?

Here is the weather for August if someone would prefer that more: Average Weather In August For Nashville, Tennessee, USA - WeatherSpark

We had discussed going to the Airstream campground south of Nashville, TN: TCPC Online - WELCOME

From the site:
"Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground (TCPC) is an exclusive Airstream-only campground located on the Cumberland Plateau just south of Crossville, TN. Members enjoy 376 acres of diverse terrain, walking trails, a seven acre lake, a 5,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, and paved interior roads."

Here is the Lat/Long: 35.753478,-85.090166
Quite difficult to find on google with out it. However it notes on the website NOT to use GPS to get the camp due to the tendency to take you via unimproved roads!

Since both of us still work full time We would drive up Friday and back Sunday. It is about a 6 hr drive for us. The location does seem to be centrally located between those who responded.

So Who is up for it and should I call and see if they can set a few site aside?

That's near my birth home of Oak Ridge, a very nice area and only 200 miles for us! May is good for us, not critical which weekend. You can count on us to show.

Hmm, there is a remote chance I might be able to make it with the Arogsy. At most it would be running with brakes, no interior to speak of and definitely wouldn't be pretty looking

But Crossville TN is only 150 miles from me. Definitely don't count on me being there but it gives me a target for getting the motor in and running

Dave,

Apparently you haven't seen pictures of my self propelled (well almost anyway) aluminum tent

You might change your mind once you see a picture of it

Brad

The campground is at exit 1 on Interstate 24 I would certainly come if it were there Since I live close by would be fun to meet other Airstreamers

Brad,

I drove a 30 year old Volvo 122S wagon as a daily driver for years since it was classic. Ugly, but classic! Heck I would like to see the guy in the you tube video with just the chassis and lawn chair show up! Now that is styling. An if I had it, I don't know if I would put the shell back on!

Bfrank: It would be awesome if you attended as well. I guess I should nail a date down. Put it on the calendar and count how many we may have already.

Well, according to my calculations we have 8 possible shows for May!!!:

WXBUOY 1991 350
WOODJA 1982 310
Bkahler 1974 Argosy 20
Tarnished 1979 Argosy Minuet 7.3 meter
Gypsychris 1989 345
Elbundi 1985 345
Buckwheat 1987 345
Bfrank 1983 310

Unless someone objects (rather soon) I will put it on the calendar for 17, 18, and 19 May.I will also call the park and see about putting a section of say 10 sites aside for us.

Come on there has to be some other takes with in a reasonable drive??

If anyone else wants to come or know someone who might speak up!!

You probably should put a huge asterisk by my name since the odds are against me at this point in time ...but I will try.

Driving down in my TR4 and visiting for a day is certainly doable. It definitely would be nice to drive the Argosy down but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Now that the 345 has been dismantled I will be able to spend more time on the Argosy rebuild.

That works!

Sorry to hear that! But put it on your calendar for next year! New Mexico sounds like a better deal anyway!

I just found this rally today as I was seeing what was on the calendar for the new year. I can't believe I missed the thread! Anyway, it'll be a tough sell to my wife since it's an 8 hour drive and with the kids in school it would be a drive Friday night, arrive Sat. at lunchtime, on night, then drive home type of thing. Those are tough to sell, rightfully so. But, we'll see what happens. I'll put myself as a maybe on the RSVP page.
