There should be the actual garage service manuals. Bob is best placed to know if they exist electronically. We have all the ones for the P30 chassis on the site

Heater blower repair

I made significant progress in correcting the wiring on the front of the 370 LE for the 12 volt engine components, and installed the Grote headlights per Bob Miller's suggestion (pictures to be posted later). My current project is to repair the blower motor for the dash heater. I have tried wiring directly to the motor, but no success. How do I remove the box shown below to access the heater blower????

New headlights

The new headlights look much better. However, when I turn on the bright lights, the low beam on the driver's side does not remain lit. Both the high beam and low beam bulbs are lit on the passenger side.

LMAO !!!, I had the same problem when I did the Snap-On truck !!! Exactly the same problem..... your back-feeding the ground, check your re-wiring, you got a low/high beam wire backwards, I couldn’t believe it either, you think it’s only 3 wires but double check with a test light and you will find the problem. Remember the original wiring green, ground, black, low beam and red, high beam, but not the same on the Grotesque lights.

Well there's a glutton for punishment.......a 25 year old Airstream with dodgy electrics....and an old Roller with Prince of Darkness electrics.

Firestone Air Springs for 370LE

Does anyone have the Firestone part numbers for the front and rear air springs on the 370LE? The only numbers I can see on the rubber bellows are rubber numbers, according the tech support person at Firestone. My front bags have IT15 T-1 and the rear bellows have IT15 S-6. The part number should begin with WO1-XXXX.

It looks like WO1-358-9402 might be the front bellows and WO1-358-9966 might be the rear bellows, but I can't be sure. Neither Firestone nor SD Truck Springs can cross reference by application, so they don't know what bellows Airstream (or Gillig) used on this motor home.

Replacement air compressor

I am thinking about replacing the air compressor on my 370 LE. The pressure controller switch does not cut off at 100 psi. I am looking at the Viair 450H, which has a 100% duty cycle at 100 psi. Will this compressor be adequate for the 370LE suspension system? Does anyone have a recommendation for a compressor replacement?

Best regard, Steve

Air bag part numbers.....

Charly, (Streamquest) and I just finished replacing our front and rear bags on the 370LE, I'll look up the number when I'm in the shop tomorrow morning. Regards, Bob. As far as the compressor goes, I have one already rebuilt and ready to be installed.....the 370LE relies on air, both for the front and rear suspension as well as the parking brake mechanism. If you are going to go another route I strongly recommend a commercial unit. Regards, Bob

Replacement air compressor

Bob,

My 370 LE currently has a compressor that looks similar to the Viar 450H, but it may not be the original. Here is a picture of the compressor on my 370LE. Is this the original?

Best regards, Steve

Should be a 2 cylinder, how about a couple more pictures ? Not sure about the location, ours are mounted up behind the front bumper, below the hydraulic leveling system pump/reservoir, Regards, Bob

Air Springs and Air Compressor

Bob,

That is exactly the information I was looking for. My 370 has the Sierra Pacific air compressor, but I don't think it is robust enough for what we need.

The Gillig parts guy says they sell the Gast. The current model number that is available from TECO Technology is 3HBB-19-M322. The compressor in your picture is the predecessor, the 3HBB-19-M350. On Amazon it is listed for $3,800 (!), but TECO sells it directly for about $1,200. Not cheap, but a much better compressor.

The front air bag number you provided is a Gillig number, and can't be cross-referenced to a Firestone number. I was able to buy the last two front airbags that Gillig has in stock. I sure hope there are more available. When they arrive, I will take a picture of the Firestone part number and post it.

My current project is to figure out the wiring diagram for the blower motor and see how power flows from the switch on the dashboard to the resistor next to the blower motor box. What a jungle of wires.

Best regards, Steve

Question Windshields for 370LE

I want to replace both the driver's side and the passenger side windshields on my AS 370LE. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to purchase them?

That’s a good question....I believe they are the same as the other Classics, there was a thread recently, not a hard job, but definitely 2 people, might want to check with one the larger national chains like Safelite, or Coach Glass. You are probably going to be in the $1,500.00 area for both sides. If anyone needs the factory engine oil cooler, transmission cooler, or the 2 small electric fans in front of the radiator they are available.....370LE SPECIFIC, they will not fit the other classics without fabrication of some sort. Regards, Bob

Air tank leaking on 370LE

I have the new Gast air compressor installed, new cutoff air pressure regulator, but when trying to see if the regulator would cut the compressor off at 100 lbs, I couldn't get more than 80 lbs on the system. Turns out I have at 3 rust holes in the bottom of the air tank. Are there replacement tanks available?

Check with Gast, they probably offer one, or know where you could get one. Regards, Bob
