The dead lock completely failed on our recent trip, locking us all in the van. Nothing from dash switch, internal or external. We had all five of us climbing in and out of the emergency window.....which was kinda fun with the missus saying the 'does my b*m look big coming out of the here' comment.
I've read up most of the pages on the Schlage deadbolt which has the integral bell. Brad and Steve and Overlander 77 have posted some really useful content. I've concluded I need to buy a Schlage lock and use the parts to fix the deadlock (rather than a straight swap). The problem is that they don't sell Schalge locks over here in the UK so I'm not sure which lock to buy. I am looking at getting this one:
Schlage Rim Cylinder, 20-022 C 626C Keyway 626 - Schlage
but would really welcome someone confirming that it looks like the right one to get before I order it.
Airstream have sent me a diagram of the lock exploded which I haven't seen before so I will load it up to the site. Airstream no longer have parts.
