A room with a view...

Team,

Wanted to start this thread showing the views outside our coaches. Capturing the beauties in their natural habitat if you will.

Brad and Tony,

You too can view it, but you must go to an isolated post in the middle of a desert. It's the Dryden NASA research facility located inside Edwards Air Force Base. You will have to arrive early, wait at the visitor's center for 2-3hrs to get approved, will have access to that outdoor museum and the experimental flight museum. There are two SR 71's on this post, and the other one you can actually touch! Worth the trip, and if you contact the Edwards AFB visitor's center a day or two ahead of time, they may have a process to work the visitors passes so you can shorten the wait to 20min.

Visiting Edwards would probably be about as far west into CA that I would want to go. I think the trip would definitely be worth it so it's now on my bucket list of "would like to do" after retirement

Thanks!

Brad

March AFB is just a few miles further in Riverside and much easier to get into the museum, just $10. In addition to the SR-71 they used to have a U-2.
You can head north to McMinnville, Or. to see the Spruce Goose and on to Seattle to the Museum of Flight. Lots of great air museums plus great scenery and places to visit on the way. You might even run across some of those crazy Airstream moho people along the way.

The Spruce Goose is something I've always wanted to see. Who knows, I have family in the Washington State/Oregon area now so I just might have to make a trip up that way
