79' motorhome gauge issue
Hello,
The Teleflex fuel and elect. charging gauges on our 79' motorhome are pegged to the right.
Any ideas?

Not sure about the electrical charging gauge, but the fuel gauge is probably a short-circuit in the sending unit inside the fuel tank.
But it's a lot easier to remove the gauge from the dashboard and check it than to remove the sending unit from the tank to check that. So, start by checking for a short-circuit in the gauge itself, THEN tackle the sending unit in the tank if the gauge isn't the culprit.

try to connect a fresh ground wire and see if it fixes the problem

The gauge appears to be the issue. Any suggestions where to find a replacement? There are no markings or part numbers to match to.
Thanks

Forget part numbers. Just take the old one to the auto parts store of your choice, and get one of the same diameter that will fit the hole in the dash.

DeanoT,
Can you post a picture of the gauge? As near as I can tell Airstream used at least two different styles of Teleflex gauges. The later coaches (i.e. somewhere around 84 and up) used the XL line of gauges and the earlier coaches used the Eclipse line of gauges.
Eclipse series
Exclipse series
Fuel and voltage - Eclipse series
I couldn't find a current listing for an XL fuel gauge but they do show up from time to time.
Good luck!
Brad

Fuel gauge is the same one's used in boats. Check with local boat dealers for a replacement. Collaw RV salvage has some also.

Wow, that ones different than any of the others that I've seen. I quickly went through all of the Teleflex fuel gauges currently on ebay and this is the closest that I found to yours.
Teleflex Sterling gauge
I would suggest contacting Veethree instruments below:

marcin.maleszka@veethree.com
I'm not sure what else to suggest other than possibly buying a different Teleflex fuel gauge to see if it works with your system.
Good luck!
Brad
