I have finished with the final approval of the 12 new gauges, they should be here in 3 weeks. Finished sand blasting the intake manifold and valve covers yesterday. The engine came Friday and I picked up the dashboard yesterday. Got my work cut out for me now.Click image for larger version

How much did Jasper charge for that engine, if you don't mind sharing. I understand its Ford 460.

Bob

Only one watch out for that I can offer.

Trans side of block eng to trans alignment dowel pins or sleeves. Easily overlooked and tears up a trans if missing.

Good luck. Heck of a project.

That is a first on me: an automatic transmission shift position
indicator in that form! How is it connected to the linkage?

ID:	361884 to be done before Saturday’s install of the engine. I relocated the transmission controller so that I can see it while driving, as long as I have the glovebox door open.

Another solid 12 hours in today...the engine/transmission/ air conditioning/ power steering all reinstalled ! Tomorrow I’m shooting to reinstall the dashboard. 2 weeks from now we’ll reinstall the front end/axle assembly, driveshafts etc. I’m shooting for a start up 3rd weekend in March. wow I am impressed . ! I want to upgrade my 85 345 engine and tranny so I guess you have concluded that going from underneath was better than removing the nose or did the front suspension need to come out anyway ?

I don't think that you can remove the engine from our 345's out the
bottom. We have independent front suspension. That means that
there is a solid frame member between the two front wheel
suspension mounts. This frame member is not removable.

The solid front axle on Bob's AS is removable.
