The main suspension is supported front and rear by 4 air bags. The frame height from the bottom of the frame to the floor is 27”. The rear ride height is determined by the adjustments on the tag axle. The tag axle is a torsion axle with a limited amount of travel up and down just like the trailers and the 325, 345, 350 and 360 series classic motor homes. The mid point of travel of the tag axle is where the frame is exactly 27” from the ground. When the rear is jacked up the drive axle has more up and down movement because it is not a torsion axle. Regards, Bob

Thanks Bob, for explaining the different set-up. Again, I like that it doesn't dump the rear bags when using the levelers, which in my opinion is a huge waste of resources.

My HWH dumps all the bags before extending the jacks in auto mode. I usually run it manually and extend the jacks just enough to stabilize it and minor leveling. You can manually push the dump button and just take it down part way.

Gonna hit Charly’s (Streamquest) next weekend. I’ve been promising for a while and since my sister cancelled thanksgiving I have 3 free days. We’re going to de-emission his 460 like I did to mine, get rid of the Dura-spark ignition and install a GM HEI 1 wire set up. If we have the time we’ll also install the 1 wire 200 amp alternator set up.......he’s been thinking about the E4OD but I need more time for that. Maybe I can get him to cruise with me to Arkansas next October.....it’s pretty cool seeing 2 370LE’s going down the road together. Regards, Bob

Sounds like a good way spend the holiday! A break from tradition! We will probably eat and drink too much while watching the Lions get their ass kicked.

Alright.....so day 2 has started with de-emissioning or let’s say the new term is de-commissioning his 370LE. The left cylinder head has to much PO damage from an ill attempted previous repair, which will necessitate the removal of the left cylinder head which is almost impossible to accomplish with the engine in the 370LE. So he had decided to install the same transmission as I have and install a new HO 460 like I have done. So now the real work starts.....he will also be upgrading the radiator. Condolences can be sent to him (Streamquest) through the forum. He is trying to quarantine me here for obvious reasons......Regards, BobClick image for larger version

I don’t think I’ve done this much work in this short amount of time.....transmission is out, front end is removed, and the engine is now out....I would like to get the radiator out tonight. I am leaving tomorrow and Charly will have a list of stuff to do before I return . Regards, BobClick image for larger version

Remind me never to go anywhere and help someone for the weekend.......I’m spent, talk about a marathon ! LMAO !! We did it, we both cranked, about 18 hours, it’s all done including the radiator. I contacted my tranny guy, he’s pumped, Charly’s got his engine guy, radiator guy. I think Charly just wants to be able to cruise at 82 MPH like I do........ gives me a reason to get going on the 2 speed rear end......I have to keep the edge on !Click image for larger version

My back hurts just looking at the pictures. Great work guys. Brings back memories of my youth. I can remember combing my hair after such work stints and getting grit, grease, parts of gaskets and other unidentifiable material on the comb and floor. I usually had to throw the clothes away as my mother would not allow them near the washing machine.

I think you are both infected with Covid-370, so quarantine is in order.

What happened to the paint on Charley's 370? It looks naked.

You guys are animals!

Good to see Charley is doing the job right. At least in my opinion. I see a drag race at the next get together.

I’ve been busy getting the place ready for winter. Bunch of work to do on the 94 360 when I get it in the heated shop. What are your covid Christmas plans! [emoji6]

Time to get going on some of the “stuff” planned for the 370LE. I bought this stuff a couple of years ago, and now that a majority of the heavy work is done, it’s time to install this system. It’s basically a carbon copy of the system I installed on the 325LE with the exception of an additional head for the top of the transmission area. Planning on ripping out the original hardwood floor and dinette and replacing with original oak 5/8” or 3/4” and rebuilding the step well area where that useless plastic insert is located. Going to make the dinette 4” longer to take care of my long legged issue and install a new drawer for pots and pans under the forward bench. Click image for larger version

Along the list of improvements was to take care of the water pump pressure switch. Although the Seaflow pump is one of the best because of flow and pressure as Mike previously stated (Mayco) they use a 5 cent pressure switch. Although I routed the ground instead of the power through the factory pressure switch I was still having intermittent concerns (problems) I decided to go with a more commercial set up, about $60.00. Moving along as well on the fire suppression system. Regards, Bob Click image for larger version

I installed the new water manifold this morning, no leaks. The water pump works great, holds pressure at 40 PSI while the shower is running. I need to install another new liquid filled gauge on the city water inlet feed so I can see the pressure coming in while hooked up to city water, why ??? Just something else to look at. I always use a pressure regulator at the faucet, not interested in seeing 90 psi entering any section of my onboard lines

That is actually true, so in the meantime I'll keep the pressure around 40psi
