11 hours in yesterday, 9 to do the install, 2 to program and calibrate the TCM. I just got back from a 20 mile road test......SUCCESS ! ......night and day. The shift points are excellent. I will start to make the downshift adjustments on the way to Pennwood ! I would have liked to have taken more pictures but I didnít take the time. I had to stay focused on the task at hand. I did notice that the RPMís at 55 were 2300. That tells me that 65-70 is definitely possible. I will find out on Saturday during the 100 mile road test. Regards, Bob

Iím looking forward to Sundayís 100 mile road test. The only downside to the original drive was the shifter cable was not properly fastened and decided to hug the exhaust pipe and it now looks quite different than when I installed it. Iíll have a new one tomorrow and although it still works I donít want to risk driving it and having it break only to have to return home using a coat hanger to shift the 370LE. Iím hoping my exhaust guy can come in on Saturday to finish the 2 pipes I need made. Iím waiting to find a dashboard mounted cancel overdrive switch pigtail so I can finish the switch installation. I found some beautiful polished brass 1/2Ē edge banding trim for the countertops. The original wood grain trip is peeling and pieces are missing. I believe the 1990-1992 LE models had polished trim on the countertops and TV stand from the pictures that I have seen. I will be installing the 2 additional vents in the rear closet to let air in so I can use the washer/dryer with the closet doors closed. Iím also going to repair the windshield bubbles this Sunday if I have enough time. My lawn is about 3 feet high now so I have to tackle that job as well, Regards, Bob

Remember the one third rule when cutting your grass Bob. In your case only take off the top foot, if you can adjust your deck that high.

Just got back from the trip to Pennsylvania.....performance with the 370LE was awesome to say the least. 70 MPH showed 2900 RPM compared with 55 MPH last year at 3200 RPM. With the removal of the tranny and engine oil coolers ahead of the radiator/AC condenser temps never went above 200 even on the steepest grades. Itís nice to keep up with the flow of traffic....a totally comfortable driving experience. I have a transmission leak in the front, about 1 qt. every 600 miles, Iím not concerned cause itís coming out again in the fall when I pull the engine. The Hydro-Max is leaking again, that will also be repaired again. Iíve got a few other items to finish before the Kentucky trip in July....working on 6 new centramatics, the shaking above 72 MPH is got to go away. Weíll remove the balance beads next weekend if the centramatics make it here in time. Total MPG for the trip......8.3 MPG. Iím happy with that. Regards, Bob

Good for you, they will make a huge difference with all the unbalanced disk/drum assembly. I could have gotten them shipped to you today, if you would have told me what you need.
I think they still have some of the special production P30 front balancers as well.

you must be kidding...I am offering you to get the balancers you need fast and mention on the side that the special order P30 fronts, I had them build for us, are still available and you try to educate me about the 370 being on a Gillig chassis. Give me a break, Bob!

Back a few year ago, the nationwide sales rep stopped at my house, since I contacted the company about the discontinued P30 steer balancers. He was fascinated by the Airstream Motorhomes and wanted to see one in person. After I got a commitment from almost 20 P30 owners, he put it into motion to have a batch made. Later I found out they made more than the 20. They made me a distributor and i can order on the spot for same day shipping if someone gives me the part number.

Yes, I may be able to safe you a few dollars of the list price, but there is really not a profit margin to make it worth while.

Since you wrote "if the balancers make it here in time" I wanted to offer you my company connection for same day shipping, once you give me the part numbers for your 370.

Iím going to tackle the fresh water dispensing system I came up with from an idea I stole from Tony (Sidekick). Iím removing the soap dispenser from the kitchen sink and replacing it with a fresh water spout. It will be fed from 2 (5) gallon water jugs mounted in the base cabinet to the left of the oven and fed by a 12 volt on demand electric pump. Although I have no problem drinking from my on board 105 gallon tank, I find that as I replace that water at various sources along the trip some water has an acidic taste which I donít care for. Iím also going to make the cut outs for the bedroom and kitchen wall inverter outlets. I bought a new I pad holder which I think wonít wobble as much going down the road. The new centramatics will be here Tuesday, so next Saturday we will break down all 9 tires and remove the balance beads from them and will road test the centramatics to Cooperstown the following weekend. All is go for the Kentucky trip in July. Iím making another modification to the back up camera so I can leave it on while driving and not have to press 3 buttons on the menu to get to that feature. Regards, Bob

370LE for sale

My name is Tom Keating and I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The pastor of our local Methodist church has a 370LE that he wishes to sell. None of us know anything about these 370Les and could use some help finding out about them. If any of you guys could contact me at tomkeating@comcast.net with some information and thoughts on what to do with the RV , I would be very grateful. Our pastor is getting up in years and is getting rid of alot of stuff so if there are any people in your community that might be looking for a 370LE I am sure he would be ready to make a deal. I know that it runs and is driveable. Thank you for any help that yo may be able to give.

Iím still working on re-enforcing the support base for the (2) 5 gallon jugs of water.....about 80 lbs. The upper half shelf in the cabinet will keep the tanks from moving or tipping over during my high speed lane changes ! The upper shelf will also be removable with 2 clevis pins. The cell range extender antenna is now finished and sealed to the roof. Iím looking forward to the next ďGet-TogetherĒ at Pennwood for a leak test. I have enough inside and outside work to do over the 4th of July weekend so whatever the weather brings Iíll be good to go. Regards, Bob Click image for larger version

With the exception of some trim work, the fresh water system is installed......19 hours. Most of the time was spent on re-enforcing the base. I used Dyna-Mat to cover the L/S drive axle wheel well. I needed the additional 3 1/2Ē for the adapter that fits on top of the 5 gallon jug. The spare jug is fine. I was lucky to find the additional 3 1/2Ē under the bottom shelf of the cabinet as that is where the bottle sits now. The new Centramatics came and guess what ??? They donít fit....Iíll have to deal with that tomorrow. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

Yo Bob,
We carry our drinking water in 2.5ga containers (3). They fit under the kitchen sink while in motion and one of them has a pour valve. We use this water for drinking, cooking, coffee, etc.. I sanitize our onboard fresh water tank but still don't use that water for drinking. So is your bottled water system the same concept and where is it plumbed to?

Wonder what happened with the Centramics?

The fresh water dispenser is where the soap dispenser used to be. To the left of the main faucet (Tap) in the picture (No pun intended). I finished the most important outlet.....the one in the kitchen.....the one for the COFFEE ! I will give it a workout this coming weekend to make sure itís ready for the Kentucky trip. Although it should be a GFI, the GFI that I had was bad right out of the box, so I am using the outlet I bought for the bedroom until the orange GFI replacement outlet arrives. As for the Centramatics......it appears they never made them for a 370LE before. The fronts will work, but the rear 2 sets have to be made from scratch.....theyíre going back tomorrow.
