A special thanks again to Diane and Frank at Metal Suoermarket in Albany, NY for getting me the 2 sheets of .080 aluminum I need to finish off the front wheel wells if the 370LE after the 2” rigid styrofoam is installed. The front floor gets so dam hot in the summer time and cold in the winter time. I’m sure this will not only make the comfort level excellent but should also cut out all the remaining road noise. I will post detailed pictures of the install after this weekend. I started up the generator today and the rear tires are now back on ! Regards, Bob

I re-visited the battery compartment today....I was not happy with the cheap main fuse holder for the inverter. I broke the first one tightening the battery cable into, so I bought 2 more. Well it is so cheaply made I thought if I hit a pothole it might break off and then I would have a real problem while driving. So I redid the set up and am now using a commercial 300 amp circuit breaker which mounts the way I think it should. In any event, I do not recommend this type of fuse for our applications. Other than that I am still prepping the wheel wells for the rigid insulation install, more later. Regards, Bob

The single sheet of aluminum is to large to install into the wheel well and because it is .080” it will not flex enough. Even if I drop the front end down it still will not go.....so, I made it into 4 pieces which will fit perfectly together. The left side is the hardest so I picked that side first. Will cut up the 2” insulation this Saturday and see if everything fits. Regards, Bob

We nailed it today, a solid 10 hours in, all of the 2” foil faced insulation is installed, rear of the tag axle all done as well as both front wheel wells, I should be able to cut out the aluminum .080 panels for the wheel wells tomorrow. The temporary flex 2 1/2” exhaust pipes are in place and we finished the final bolts securing the water tank to the floor/frame. We are shooting for a May 4th start up, possible road test........Regards, Bob

I finished the left front wheel well today with the aluminum, it’s an extremely uncomfortable job, can’t do it sitting down, laying down, nor standing up.....you have to kind of straddle the rotor/caliper. Anyway it came out as expected.....nice. Going through the final check list and I find that I’m adding things as I go along LOL.....it’s never done ! I took some time to gather some part numbers and the paint that I used for the roof as has been requested from me. Front air bag part number is WO1-358-9650, Rear air bag part number is WO1-358-9599, Tie rod L/S NAPA 269-2189L R/S NAPA 269-2190R, Brake Line NAPA 38911, Brake rotor International 2505097C1 or Meritor 23-123572-002, Disc brake pads MX184HD, do not use the NAPA brake pads, they suck and you will have to replace them.....Regards, Bob

After a year of looking I finally found the “Needle in the haystack” The electric 12 volt adjustable height dinette base that I have been wanting. Airstream offers them in the newer Classic trailers. I got a price of $1,700.00 at Jackson Center and recently got a price of $2,600.00 from Albany RV. Well......to much ! Though a Snap-On dealer in Japan I was finally able to get the manufacturer of the table for Airstream and just ordered it $132.00 plus $145.00 for international shipping. Quite a mark up for Airstream wouldn’t you say......it was worth the wait......Regards, Bob

Oh shoot! I'm feeling sick right now - I bought the electric lift from Jackson Center. Never dreamed I could get it from the manufacturer. Costly mistake, but happy you could get yours for a fraction of what I paid.

So, the transmission wiring harness is now laid out in the garage floor. This is the part I have not been looking forward to, but I’m going to do it right. I have to find a good place to put the TCM, I’m thinking on the forward bulkhead, just next to the steering column. Any excess wire will be cut back, soldered, and shrink tubed. I’m still recovering from last weekends work......my shoulders are really sore......must be an age thing. I have to repeat the process this Sunday on the right side. Other than that it’s start up time and run around like a chicken with its head off looking for leaks. Still waiting on the kitchen guy, but have not pulled out the cabinets yet. Regards, Bob

I’m almost done with the right front wheel well.....ran out of screws, another excuse to go to Lowe’s and spend more $$$$. Transmission wiring harness next. I used to go to Lowes or HD myself to get more stainless steel screws. Now I order in bulk, amazing how much money I save.
