So.....in between trips I want to get the dash AC 100%.....which required removal of the dashboard....pictures to follow. Ever want to know why there are 4 fan speeds on the climate control but there is only a 3 speed fan resistor ???, now I know why. Well I got the max AC door (vacuum controlled) working again, also repaired the factory AC compressor control, now I donít need the separate toggle switch and determined that I have in fact hot antifreeze running through the heater core even with the valve in the off position....more on that later. Dash AC should be fully operational this Sunday....want to make sure itís 100% for the caravan....pictures to follow, Regards, Bob

I am going through my dash A/C now. The foam on my fresh air door had turned
to dust like yours. I cleaned the old foam off and coated the door with spray
adhesive. Then I covered it with stick on foam door seal that you can get at
Home Depot. I used the black soft foam strip that is 1/4" thick. I hope that it
will last another 30 years.

370 LE start to finish.....

The dash air on the my 360 has been little more than a joke. The air box including the evaporator seem to be adequate. The condenser seems to be undersized and inefficient based on constraints of where itís located.

Richard and Nancy had theirs rebuilt and seem to be satisfied with its performance.

Thinking about replacing the high pressure line from the compressor in the rear with couple 10 foot sections of this heat exchanger tube before the condenser in the front. There a couple areas where they would fit along the frame rails.

In addition to a new pump and drier.

The control system is also problematic. Iíd like the get rid of the vacuum servos and control head too. Iíll use a GM electric system like my 2008 Dodge Ram. Iíll look for a junkyard donor. I can also get rid of the vacuum pump system. And the poorly routed push pull cable that has never worked well. To much friction and the ends bend and unhook from the control lever.

I don't think that baseboard heating units or the solder connections would hold
the pressure. The high side pressure of R134a at 100 degrees ambient is over
300 PSI. If you want more cooling you might be better off getting a second
condenser core with a fan and mounting it up under the motorhome. You

don't want it blowing out when it is hot and you need it the most.

Dash AC all done, my low side is still higher than I like it so tomorrow I will reclaim the R12, evacuate and recharge, I suspect that I may have some air trapped in the system....pictures to follow. I will be in the Cooperstown area next Saturday through the 4th if anyone wants to stop by.....,Regards, Bob

I finished the dash AC on the 370LE finally 100% and just in time for the heat wave this coming week. While I was doing this work I screwed up the wiring underneath to the alternator voltage regulator......so now that is also completely retired the way it should be.....at an idle with the AC and headlights on I am at 12 volts and the water just pours out of the evaporator box the way it should ! Regards, Bob

Well I finished all the windows with the exception of the front left 2, the couch windows, I ran out of material, canít figure, will go over my last sodomy invoice from inland rv and check my measurements. Regardless I have to call them and order more on Friday. I spoke with the factory guys at Sea Level tank monitoring systems Monday and have picked out the items I need to update my tank level system. The dash AC works great. I found another 370LE in a garage, it has been sitting for 10 years. The owner is 79 years old. I plan on stopping by to check it out on the way to Jackson Center in August, Iíll be passing right by so itís worth the stop. I plan on removing the original vent/hood assembly over the winter in addition to removing the stove/oven. I plan on installing the drawer type dishwasher in place of the oven and a custom 2 burner Jenn/aire style in a cutout in the new granite countertop with the addition of a larger kitchen sink.Click image for larger version

I ordered up the new tank monitoring system yesterday. After measuring the height of the fresh, grey, and black tanks I was able to pick out the correct sensors needed for each tank. The main display panel will be mounted on the kitchen wall near the sink with the optional pump switch to replace the one that is currently in the overhead range power vent. This panel will also have a second switch to replace the auto-fill fresh tank solenoid which is also mounted currently in the same location. A second display panel with no switches be mounted in the toilet room next to the switch panel that I installed for the tank/plumbing heaters. Although the manufacturer states that I can use the existing wiring, I am going to rewrite the entire system to modern specs. Airstreamís original wiring with wire nuts and electrical tape just doesnít work for me. Regards, Bob

The wiring going to the ignition coil, get a spare ignition coil cap as well, slides over the ignition coil to make a good contact. Regards, Bob

The new tank monitoring system has arrived ! Since I have a few weeks before the next trip and I have to cut another hole in the kitchen wall, I am going to remove the rest of the ďwallpaperĒ and replace it with a seamless sheet of aluminum .....the same that I used for the door. I am going to remove the instant hot water switch on the wall to neaten things up a bit. I have to pull the wiring out of the oven/range hood and get that all labeled, figure out where I want the new generator start/stop switch. Everything else will probably fall into place......or fall apart. I have already prepped all the tanks including the propane tank for the new sensors and wiring, pictures to follow, Regards, Bob
