Looks pretty! How do you like the layout with the dinette instead of the L-shaped lounge with table?

The L shaped dinette in my opinion was a loser, 3 people at best, 4 would be a tight fit. I said if they made a 370LE with a dinette booth I would buy one and "BANG" there it was for sale.....I hate when that happens......

Put a solid 9 hours in on the 370LE today. One of my buddies (customer) came out and did the custom install on the Alpine 8" radio/navigation unit, the same one that we installed in the 325LE and the 396XL. He's been doing these installs for 25 years and he's been a great customer for the same amount of time. I finished mapping out the electrical install for the 50 amp conversion. I received the new 45" sewer hose holder which will be installed in the same location, the 370LE has more than enough room to accept that length. Installed the new screen door latch assembly and removed the medicine cabinet. Charly, you'll be happy to know that the black tank flush out is relatively easy to service through that cabinet opening. I had to remove the outer black tank flush door (same as the fresh water fill door) to remove the broken hose. Charly, I need another measurement (height measurement) of the closet door opposite the refrigerator, see in the picture. Someone modified the door by removing the lower 2-3" for reason I don't know, installed a 110 volt outlet in the closet and a wood platform about 6" above the carpeted floor. Next Saturday brings huge work to the 370LE, we will be stripping down the tag axle, replacing front and rear axle disc brake pads, front and rear air bags, all shocks, transmission flush, new filter and gasket, oil and filter change, trying to diagnose hard brake pedal and a few other things. I felt a little guilty today because I never sent the antenna that John wants, I had two extra...one is still his and I used the other for the 370LE today.

370 closet
Bob,
The closet door measures 60" from top to bottom. The distance from the floor up to the low edge of the closet opening is 16". The platform (or bottom) of the closet is 6" lower than that edge, or 10" above the main floor. Mine seems to be in an original unmolested state. Could it have been a central vacuum? Hard to understand why the door is cut.
Did you find anything under that closet bottom? Just wondering why it's raised at all.

I'm thinking ice maker.....does your closet have a 110 volt outlet mounted in the right rear corner ? The shelf above the closet floor was even with the butchering of the closet door leaving a 2" gap across the the bottom of the door. My guess is that was used for ventilation. Is your aux. heater still working in between the stove/oven and the furnace, and does your hot water heater still have the engine heater hoses going to it ? Making progress on the A/C system, but I think I am going to make a drive to Boston soon .....to many unanswered questions....I need about three hours looking at yours to answer what I need to know LMAO !!!! This one is really killing me.

Hi Bob,
I do not have a receptacle in my closet as you show, but yours doesn't look like factory work. Or actually, maybe it does look like factory work.
Do you still have a 110v receptacle in the galley liquor cabinet (just forward of the closet) with the tambour door? I am thinking that the PO may have tapped power from there since it is essentially already "inside" the closet (covered by that plastic box).
Not sure of the status of my "aux" heater, or of how it is activated. I played with it briefly last year, but I haven't seen it produce any heat. The rear salon heating unit tries to fire up a pilot, but doesn't get any further. Gotta love that dash heater though. With the motor warmed up, it will heat the whole coach!!
The water heater still has the engine heater hoses running to it, and the aluminum tank gets hot to the touch after running the engine, but I haven't yet seen any hot water make it to a faucet. I am not under the impression that the hot water heater actually heats water.
It would probably make more sense for me to take a drive out to you. I'll try to put a couple of days together during the next couple of weeks. I could use a short road trip. Will keep you posted.

That is exactly where they took the power from....don't need the outlet in the closet so it will be removed. Your aux heater has a two speed fan controlled by the aux heater switch (toggle) on the upper dashboard. Temperature is regulated by a cable marked heat by the heater itself. The cable runs to a heater control valve which is probably rusted open or closed. By a new plastic one and you will be good to go. If you can think about Columbus Day weekend, Cooperstown, NY (Hartwick Highlands camp ground) if you can make it, great. Traditionally my last outing for the year, great spot. We will get there Friday night and leave Monday mid day. If you can make it call them and pass my name tell them you would like one of the "F" sites if available. More later.....Regards, Bob

I found myself in this junkyard this morning going through a 1989 ambulance.....found all of the brackets and AC compressor that I need along with the crank pulley. Also huge bees nest that I will deal with later with a flame thrower ( ahh....brings back memories) I promise pictures on this one if I'm not running away) All air bags in....shocks are in their way, brake pads, new wipers, two TV's.....and some other things.....it's never done. So listen, I have invited Charly to Cooperstown for the Columbus Day weekend.....if anyone wants to come let me know, we'll be there from Friday night through Monday. I am trying to get the 370LE back together, but if I can't I will be there in the 325LE. Regards, Bob

Now we know what Bob's spiking his coffee with.....napalm.
Remember Bob, bees (at least the honey guys) are fast becoming endangered in NA.
Cheers

Thanks for the invite. Going to be stuck at work without enough time to make the trip from KS.

Yesterday was a full press day on the 370LE. It's rare when I tell my guys that we're going to put a full day in on the Airstream instead of the work that we usually do. They know how much my Airstreaming thing means to me, so I get the extra effort from them. The one thing that I will always remember is that if you take care of your men they will take care of you. Never mess with their money or food and you're good to go. We finished up with the power 40' water reel, mounting, installing the inline check valve, rubber grommets for the holes, etc. The power cord reel (50 amp) is very heavy and working with the 6/4 wire is not easy by any means. We mapped out the electrical system to a blueprint so we know exactly where the 20/30 amp generator legs feed into the two transfer switches, the original 30 amp shoreline connection etc. Will be replacing the original 30 amp circuit breaker panel with a 50 amp, 2 leg panel....might also scrub the two original 30 amp transfer switches for a 50 amp, but being that the generator has two circuits one 20 amp and the other 30 amp, might just leave them alone. All disc brake calipers are off now as well as all the original shocks. All new front and rear air suspension bags are in......a very time consuming job, but well worth it. We also replaced the inner tube spring for the 21' L/S window awning. Not a difficult job except for removing the broken end piece from inside the tube which was stuck about 24" inside. Had we been able to tip the motor home up on end and shake, it would have been easier. I should have the remaining 4 wheels polished this week....Cooperstown is drawing close and I really would like to take the 370LE there. Regards, Bob
