345 inline fuel filter info.

I was told some of the early 345's have the fuel line inside the frame rail and AS moved the line to the outside of frame rail on later 345's because of vapor lock problems. This may also be when AS went to 1/2" line, I'm not sure.

Anyway, if yours is 1/2" OD line and on the outside of rail the NAPA part # is NAPA GOLD 3299 for the inline filter. On mine it's located outside of frame just about behind the back of battery pull out drawer. Before I ended up at NAPA today two seperate parts houses told me there are no P30 motorhomes that have 1/2" fuel lines so I'm posting this to maybe save someone else from running around when its filter change time and there's a NAPA near you.

Of the short/long available filters on the QJet mine holds the long one.

I had the same problem getting the right filter (or anything else) at the parts store.
It's strange, the line coming out of the gas is 3/8 (i think) into an in-line filter, then to the Holley pump (which I think has smaller nipples then 3/8), then into a 1/2 line.
I put the injector pump where the frame rail filter was when I put the TBI system on it, so I only have the one filter back by the gas tank.

vapor lock fix

I lifted the attached PDF from the P-30 Yahoo group. It makes interesting reading and kind of explains why the half inch line. The PO of my motorhome removed the mechanical fuel pump and replaced it with an electric. It doesn't work very well. I'm going to go with this setup and see if it does better.
